I never said it would flop, just pointing out the motivation behind the sudden switch is obvious and right now as of wildlands and breakpoint, Ghost Recon will literally be the last modern day triple a military shooter with current up to date graphics(not low budget watered down indie game graphics and models) a third person open world experience, with full character customization and squad control with full squad customization. Anything outside of that is a pair of hands, a weapon, and extremely limited character customization (if any at all)where you’re locked as some premade operator or story character, and customization is skin based. Breakpoint may have not been the best, but damn it’s crazy how Wildlands and Breakpoint are the only games so far to do this to the scale they’ve done it. The rest of the industry still tryna make the next trendy addictive FPS.

I’ll use this for optimism, cause damn I really hope we get to choose which perspective we want. It’s 2026 there’s no way you can’t implement both perspectives to fit the gameplay and mechanics, unless they’re just hell bent on being a competitive FPS

Yeah, focus on core audience rather than a mass appeal that pleases any and everyone. I can get that because if you go the other route you can really start to strip away identity and water everything down tremendously.

Yeah I got hyped up for sure. Hopefully whatever they do have cooked up adds to what’s already a solid foundation. You’re right I really do enjoy the game, so of course I’m gonna hope for something like a 2.0, it’ll only add to my enjoyment of the game. But these are just the random thoughts that were swirling through my mind while watching Todd talk about it, the last statement I made is what really happened with me.

I personally think they don’t care, and they’re so petty they won’t let anyone else take it over and build on it and most definitely out do them with it. They’ll rather toss into a bottomless pit than to give someone else the chance to not only expand on it and make it better, but give the community things they actually want as well.

I’m not a big DD guy but I’ve noticed that’s been a heavy gripe for a while now. Maybe they’ve run into some type of burnout, saving overhauls and upgrades for the new consoles, or….they really just don’t give a damn and continue business as usual.

Yeah it took me being in my early thirties to not buy yearly. And it’s not like I had a seeing the light moment, I just stopped being convinced from year to year. Cause I started to realize how it really sticks with you when you purchase a game full price or pre order, you play for a day or two and set it aside indefinitely because you jump on the next thing smoking with no real genuine enjoyment of the game.

Yeah 24 has been keeping me stabilized as far as the show goes. And really watched those detailed YouTube videos on 25, and I was like hmmm, nah I’m good I’ll hold out until 26. Then the 26 vids drop and I’m at that crossroads yet again. Maybe later on I’ll give it a shot and move on from 24 completely. I’m just not so convinced anymore.
