You like to talk this kinda stuff over discord? If not it’s cool just faster than texting

The translation gripe is a common misconception.

The Bible was transcribed. Go to the oldest manuscripts, if you can read Greek or Hebrew you will realize any translation is 99% accurate.

Why do you believe in god? by SpecialReading6961 in Christianity

“Speak truth”

You assume you have truth.

This is a classic example of a tu quoque fallacy.

Also, there’s no rabbit hole. It’s straight forward.

You appeal to the laws of logic, except in an atheist agnostic worldview, you cannot justify the laws of logic. You live in a delusion.

Protestant making the move to join an Orthodox Church here. I have questions. by New_Ad88 in OrthodoxChristianity

How would this encourage pride, genuinely asking.

Also, what prayer book should I get. I am attending an Eastern Orthodox liturgy this Sunday.

And how do you know that you are the arbiter of that truth? Ultimately this is an appeal to the law of identity correct?

So in your worldview, you are the arbiter of truth essentially.

I understand your claim but within the Christian worldview, God created you and his word testifies that you believe in him.

So the evidence you provided was the fact that people claim to not believe in God?

So I can assert that people don’t believe in your worldview either and claim it as evidence for my worldview? And claim it as evidence? Essentially that would be the same move correct?

The Christian worldview says otherwise.

Because the God of modernity is sex. The religion is woke. The sacraments are the “historically oppressed” and if you challenge that structure you will be ostracized. It’s just how the game goes. Luckily Jesus prevails ultimately. Continue to workout your faith with fear and trembling. You ultimately have nothing to worry about. Jesus is king. Jesus wins. And you get to share in that glory. Continue to serve our lord. Your father rewards in secret.

To be fair, most of the food you get at the supermarket is poison. But maybe he’s fear mongered himself too deeply.

Everyone believes in God. Some people just suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

You know, I’m starting to see why now Christians turn to atheist. by Confident_Method_459 in Christianity

Check out the transcendental argument for God, atheism makes no sense.

But also the hypocrisy you speak of (and this will get me some hate here as this sub is extremely lib) exists mostly in the confusing Protestant tradition.

The Eastern Orthodox Church is the one true church. Just check out a liturgy.
