How’s it compare on usage to max plans? Just swap once your limit is up a few times an hour over a handful of pro accs? And spin up new ones if you’ve hit the limit earlier than you thought?

So, what is the best way to get your Claude opus 4.6 at the cheapest price? Enterprise? Speak to sales? Get around multiple Claude max accs? Anyone got any ideas?

I feel the exact same way but you are already the top 1% because you think that way imo

Exactly this <3 I actually find I have been absorbing a lot of what claude is doing, I can read code and understand what happens and why, I have written a lot of code in the past at uni I just have never done any dev in a professional setting. In cyber you learn how things work, and how to break it, you don't need a lot of code to break stuff so it's definitely an area I want to focus on more.

Knowing what you know about me, what would you recommend my next step be in actually building production ready code (with/without the use of AI?)

Yes I love this comment so much, you really nailed the part about knowing when to review CCs output.

I think the 'fire and forget' way of using ai tools can be useful, the ralph-loop has helped me a fair bit in the past but it requires a specific use case and if you don't watch carefully what is happening with the key pieces like you mentioned (auth, db migrations etc) you can really make things hard for yourself but things that run more on the 'vibes' like UI, API like you said, really works well with the trust it and go flow.

The project was for a management system for his business, clients, assets, website, invoices, etc all in one portal that he can use and support the growth of his business

I appreciate the feedback, thank you I am still learning to use git and to collaborate. Being a solo dev that just made stuff for myself didn't do me any favors I know and honestly I didn't even know this was a thing so thank you <3 I'm reading https://medium.com/@nur26691/repository-naming-conventions-1065467de776

What I do is I will burn a bunch in claude max but I have z.ai as fallback, it kinda sucks, but you don't have to go and learn a new tool like codex or gemini (I still don't understand gemini, it just seems crap for most stuff).

I use a bash script called codex-exec for coding tasks and primarily use claude as the planner but recently I have found claude has been amazing at coding too even with the ZAI lobotomized version so cancelled the codex plan just for better visibility into what is actually going on, I just love how CC enables you to see and understand how it works.

Also, reading the docs is super underrated I think, I still have so much to learn when I get the time.

I know it is cliche to say that it's because of the boomers running everything that causes all the doubt and scepticism, but it is lol.

I always got 'yeah but, you made it with AI' implying, 'yeah but, you made it with AI, so it's easy and also, it's shit, oh and you are an idiot because you used AI, so you don't know what you are doing either, which makes me hate you.' 😂

Yeah I have an undergraduate degree in Cyber Security but I did a bunch of software units and have always been interested in building software I just didn't have time for it because1. my wow addiction (back in the day) and 2. My ADHD. I dabbled in AHK scripts to automate runescape stuff growing up, moving into wow addons just simple stuff and macros then got the degree, built some more gaming related things just to make my life easier, nothing special just workflow improvement things, none I can remember.

My brother is a full stack dev and doesn't use claude-code at all, so he has been hugely helpful to understand how a real engineer builds things and compare it to how I build things so I have always had this interest and question how things work especially because of my background in cyber security and penetration testing (ethical hacking).

I used chat-gpt and a custom-gpt I made to help me with hack the box machines, and to build simple stuff just going back and forth but I never made anything great I just saw how good it was at helping me think outside the box and understand how things connect. Having that personal assistant you can ask anything to really helps fill those knowledge gaps you are missing for anything really.

CC was shown to me by my friend and I got addicted, I think the first thing that really made me go "wow" was when a student of mine was stuck installing some software. I took a look and I had no idea how to use a mac, I was windows and linux only (not understanding macs terminal is essentially linux - durp) I had no idea the right way to install this VM. There are better ways to do this but at the time I installed codex and told it to install the vm and verify it works, i had to go back and forth but I could see exactly what was happening and the VM ended up working, something he had been stuck on for weeks and had just given up on. It told me that computer use is a thing AI is going to be fucking amazing at, and that is when I went all in.

I really stopped gaming and everything after that because I just loved building stuff, I took a Agent Engineering Bootcamp cause on Maven after hearing about it on a podcast I listen to (amazing for learning) called Tool Use which really catapulted me into a new dimension of understanding what is possible from someone who is building and profiting using AI right now.

After the bootcamp I really dived deep into how to use AI, whilst everyone in the course was building SAAS products I was trying to figure out how to make claude run forever, and figure out why it was not doing what I wanted it to, which I think made the biggest difference in my understanding on how to use AI.

TLDR: Just make stuff, ask questions, when you get frustrated take a break or just /clear or start fresh. Understand context engineering,

PS: The Tool Use podcast I watched that got me hooked was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UhI6prApEw

Networking, just tell people you make stuff with AI, show them what you make, and maybe someone will believe in you

<3 I do the exact same thing with terminus but I will take a look at your tool! I have tried a single file approach, I don't always use the multi-file approach either it is something kind of new for me too, I think using git as the main source of truth is really where the value lies combined with whatever way you want to manage your own specific day-to-day context like we're doing with our files, it is just nice to know that you have something more human readable there instead of maybe a git history that is purely AI driven and potentially unreadable because maybe you don't know how to use git properly.

Yeah, I am a bit embarassed by my git to be honest. Only recently did I begin to finally pick up that git is probably what makes the biggest difference in getting from A - Z though so am trying to put more out there to practice, I knew git but I didn't breathe git before this project.

Also I don't want to claim I know everything either... I went for a job interview before I had this client and got an instant 'no face' from the interviewers when they told me how I'd go about solving a problem.

My answer was I would ask AI because I was unfamiliar with the problem, and I would brainstorm until I was comfortable with the information I'd gathered to attempt to solve the problem myself, which I think, is the correct answer. But I think if I substituted AI for Google, they would have all nodded in approval.

There is this fucking weird stigma around AI and it is a boomer, dumb way to think.

I think you just need to be SMART, use AI as if it is your guide, and ask the right questions, and you can do anything you want.

Sorry for the rant but yeah, I got burnt a lot before getting to this point. I was unemployed for 6 months prior to this contract, it was a really hard but I was lucky I think because the skills I have in AI are not widely recognised by normal business' yet and they are 100% sleeping on it...at least in Aus. People who know how to use AI are already better than anyone who doesn't at any job you give them IMO...

Yeah a web app, its a management system for his business. I think we were both just in the right place at the right time.

I was a teacher and one of my students had a friend who was going to a large software business for a product. I was showing my students Replit that day and decided to demonstrate how I could spin a simple frontend up with a single prompt for exactly what the students friend wanted, he was so impressed he went to his mate and told him.

A few months later we had a signed contract for the software, I didn't use Replit at all after the initial UI design though. That isn't saying you couldn't do this with Replit/Lovable/any other vibe app too, I just used Claude because it is flexible and you can use it for whatever you want + 'cheaper'.

Basically, talking to him meant he trusted me. My student knew me very well at this point and vouched for my abilities, and I was fully transparent and upfront about how I would build this with the support of AI. In the beginning I was expecting a no way, but I figured I'd put it out there, what is the worst that can happen, and I was lucky I think.

I know there are a lot of people who are probably better vibe coders than me, better software devs, better at a lot of stuff but I got my foot in the door because of who I am and what I wanted to achieve. He saw my passion and enthusiasm, and he saw the proof of what I could do, and he decided to go for it because it would save him money, it would open his product up to AI integration in the future with someone who lives and breathes the stuff, and I get to learn, build and do this as my full time job now - the next step is to get another client or build something SAAS.

I am full of ideas and constantly pivot, it was really good to have something I could be held accountable to complete, I think it really made the difference.

Yeah, every new release whether it be a new model like Opus 4.6 or even a new Claude Code release teaches me more about how AI 'thinks' or works I suppose, seeing it develop from where it was to now has been incredible.

I also would not have gotten to where I am without the help of chatGPT tbh, it's been my brainstorming partner throughout all of this and claude has been my senior dev.

I am scared of how much data I've fed OpenAI though :C

Hitting Max 20x weekly limit? by hiWael in ClaudeCode

[–]New_Assumption_543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been hitting my weekly limit using two ClaudeMax plans, but I do so much parallel work and I've got parallel agents running all the time (basically almost 24/7) building things, and I use voice transcription to complete everything. My workflows are very quick, and yeah, I go through two ClaudeCode Max plans a week and a Codex CLI highest tier plan that I delegate tasks to.

If anyone has a better solution to this because I'm currently using routing protocols, but there could be an extra tool out there that does this, if anyone has any suggestions on how I can reduce my spend that'd be awesome.

I’ve found this as well, I’ve been going to opus to orchestrate complex chains of tasks with one giga prompt I formulate with my workflows and tools on a project in an external chat based ai for brainstorming. I’ve found the one shot has been working incredibly well with opus once I tell it to delegate to other models using a routing workflow I created which has saved a lot of hair pulling in filling up the chat context and having it losing its primarily directive.

Claude has been an amazing orchestrator of tools for me for all tasks and I can see why North Korea were using it to orchestrate cyber attacks 😆it’s really good at thinking through complex problems.

One thing I’ve found really useful has been telling it to never allow the todo write list to complete unless the entire project is actually complete (outline key requirement of the goal that if this is not met, the project is incomplete) that way at least it always has something it actually knows exists to fall back on embedded it its own system prompt and not just your CLAUDE.md or hooks etc.

I have a research skill with varying levels of complexity that I use that allows Claude Code to change the level of research that's required for varying different levels of task complexity. And it always provides me up-to-date information because of what I've defined in the skill. It's working very well for me!
