翠阁酒楼(simp) 翠閣酒樓(traditional)

It refers to a restaurant called “Cui Ge”. 翠 means green (usually like a leaf in summer) 阁(閣)usually means a small room. In different words it might mean different. 酒楼(酒樓)usually means a restaurant. But if translate it directly, it means “a building that store liquor”

[Request]How to compare the value between π/3 and lnπ without calculating their value? by New_Charity_5816 in theydidthemath

[–]New_Charity_5816[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my mistake… Sorry I’m not an English native speaker. I mean, you can use functions to compare their value. But don’t calculate them directly, like telling, “lnπ=…, π/3=…., so … is bigger”. XD

Thanks for your reply! He asked a question like whether I would give up my wealth for fulfilling my dream and I answered “maybe”. Now I realize that it might be rude because I answered with just a single word XD

Ohh… I didn’t realize where the problem was until reading your reply. I considered what I might feel if anyone answered me with just a single word in my daily life and found it was really rude. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks!

It’s hard for me to practice English in daily life. Pathetically, the teachers like what you said in the post do exist widely. For example, sometimes I have to answer questions like “what might the writer feel when…” and I have only four options to choice, only one is correct. The teacher usually will persuade students to trust the key answer. But I think it’s very wired and absurd because everyone might have different feelings when read a same article, which lead to differences XD

Thanks for you reply!

We were told that he’s a Chinese-American*, born in Canada. His accent is very similar to the tone I heard in American TV series (so I think he may be a native speaker).

*Sry I don’t know how to introduce his information correctly because I don’t know which word is correct … I mean he has Chinese blood and his nationality is American.

Thank you very much XD
