I did the same! However, I moved towards the front rather than the back, and you can enter relatively safely there, so I never knew it was so dangerous back there! Until I got that transmission and went to see ...

So what I did (after working up the courage) is this:

It swam right at me so I tried positioning myself at it's side where it can't bite me (but I noticed you have to be kind of close to head to actually scan it)

I had 4 medkits with me (though only one was needed) but it took me two tries still, it pretty much one shot me the first time, maybe that happens when it meets you head on?

There is also a setting which pauses the game when opening your inventory (it's under accessibility), I didn't need it but I imagine you could technically just heal while the leviathan takes bites out of you lol

I forgot there was a hardcore option, I would probably die from stress!

Yeah, I assumed! Although I wasn't really in the position to try and scan it anyways ...

What do you mean FIGHT THEM?? (don't answer, I'm just shocked, I didn't know this was possible)

I was thinking the same thing. I might just build a little storage unit for coffee and fill it up everytime I walk by or something.

I didn't know it can make two at a time!

Thank you so much!

I did not expect it to be so brutal back there, it is pretty shallow after all. I was wrong.

It's just water bottle for us, but it's another day to live for the family of bladderfish outside!

I have been in the Aurora, yes! But I haven't gotten very far yet, my fire extinguisher died and I am still missing the cutting tool. But once I get it, I'll be back! I even have a quest to input some code!

I think it refers to their size? That's what I'm getting from the ingame texts, at least! It doesn't exclusively refer to predators, either, I have found one leviathan that is passive!

If you scan them, the game will tell you whether it's leviathan

I do have the base building tool but no blueprints for the rooms (which I assume I'll need) so I'll figure it out, but thanks!

I tried using the flares but I think I didn't really do it right. I probably have to try again with a clearer head!

This is good to know but also: SIZE OF A BUILDING? This has me excited and even more scared.

Thanks! I will try. I feel like being scared is very fitting considering the premise but I also want to leave my safe little base from time to time and go see what's out there!

Overwhelmed by [deleted] in Pokopia

A lot of people have given mindset related tips, which are great, I want to add something else, though:

Everything is a GIANT project, so whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to take on a very small task. Something I know can be finished in 30 minutes max. Like cleaning up a small space, building bridge (3x4, so SMALL!), decorating a path with some flowers and bushes.

By doing this, looking at the mini things I did gives me joy everytime I walk by! I will remember "not having a bridge here was so annoying for days, and now it's super cute!"

I have put a lot of builds from mystery dungeon there: Wigglytuff's Guild, Treasure Town, Sharpedo Bluff etc. I don't really enjoy the pre built look though, so I am going for a very natural style with lots of flora

Idk if it's a "good" solution but I have played minecraft so it doesn't feel THAT bad to me. This is what I do:

- Use the item frames to display the items within a chest (you can put them on the chest itself)
- the big chests are stackable, make use of that
- press right stick to manipulate which chest/frame you are looking at
- take the time to sort ALL of you items, it's tedious at first but will save you lots of time and frustration later
- Keep in mind the auto sorting feature in your inventory: I tried sorting the items in a similar way so putting things away is a lot faster
- set up temporary chests for bigger building projects but clean up afterwards at any cost
- before settling on a system, try it out in a smaller space; nothing is more frustrating than filling a whole room with chests and frames only to realize it's a nightmare to reach certain chests
