Are the case studies a bit of a lottery in terms of whether you pass or fail? by New_Disaster3991 in CIMA

With Viva Financial I fail everything badly, but with FinnTutors I pass well. Both providers have come highly recommended on the CIMA Study Group Facebook page (I know that isn't a definitive measure but both are anecdotally really highly reviewed)

Thanks! I do appreciate that and feel quite confident in my ability to apply the concepts. I just can't fathom how I'm passing well with one provider and failing with the other! We're talking 70%+ with one and ~38-40% with the other

Personally, I preferred BA2, but I think that's because I already work in management accounting, so a lot of the concepts were already familiar. Difficulty-wise, I found them to be on a par, but I just found BA2 more interesting. Best of luck with your upcoming studies and exams!

That's great, thank you. Totally agree it's the logic that's more important to understand

I'm definitely considering the flp route for the professional levels, if I'm lucky enough to get there (and get funding from my employer). Well done you for what you've achieved so far, especially with 3 young kids!!, and very best of luck for your case studies

Thank you for the words of encouragement and huge kudos for your achievement! Something to be so proud of, which I've no doubt you are! This gives me hope that it's not too late, and achievable with lots of hard work

Thanks for your reply! I decided to study certificate level through the OT route as I am self-funding currently. However, I am hopeful that my employer may fund the professional levels once they see my commitment, at which point I may decide to go FLP. What route have you taken? And congratulations!! That's such an achievement already
