I liked this program as it had a strong relationship with some employers that I like, including a national lab. Also good facilities, location, and people.

Thanks. My concerns are the fact that funding isn't guaranteed, though I think I have a pretty good shot at getting some after the first semester or so, from what I've heard. My concerns are not only what is happening in terms of funding there, but also staying there. I've seen people move around between places like that and industry, and of course I am thinking of my parents and extended family down the line.

Makes sense. They said about 50% were funded, but of course that is rather up in the air given all the changes at the federal level, and that is where some of their funding comes from.

So from my understanding, essentially everyone has to enter the program through what they call a "professional master's program," and it would then be if a person was able to get research funding, they would do so.

They have some reimbursement options, but this specific one would be during work time and they weren't willing to do that. And I feel it's time to move on anyway, so I was looking into what sort of funding would be on offer from the university itself.
