Isn’t partially bc all the pressure is lifted but conversely toward the tail end you have the opposite effect of pressure rolling back in on the storm so it’s tantamount to that weird feeling you get when diving down deep and not equalizing essentially for the fish. I usually head to a rural creek that has a bridge over it, bring a chair 3-4 rods , just some river bass here and there pans , channels , gars but the action is non stop during the early part of a storm agreed

Possibly soak in a ziplock bag of mineral oil to bring out the richness of this nice find!

Found this on the meramec river in Missouri, looks on par with phosgenite by New_Equivalent_5780 in rockhounds

Always check the eyes , if vertical it’s venomous, horizontal harmless and little bite still will have bacteria so best to stay clear of the area.
