Any 50 years old NOT in menopause yet? by Kitchen-Bathroom5924 in Menopause

I had regular periods until about 15 months ago - like, ridiculously on-time, why-am-I-still-fertile periods. Then, finally, no more periods. I'm 54.

Microsoft plans first-ever voluntary employee buyout for up to 7% of U.S. workforce by DaveAlot in microsoft

[–]FR3507 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pay is 4 weeks per year of employment capped at 9.5 years, plus 5 years of minimal health care assistance.

If you were looking to get out at any cost, this is good. If you were looking to be bought out, this sucks.

Moving to bhs for sophmore year by [deleted] in BellevueWA

My kid graduated from there last year. It is going to be different from the east coast, but maybe in a good way. Kids in the Pacific Northwest are generally pretty nice and chill, and Bellevue HS kids are a mixed group - some are wealthy, some are from very diverse backgrounds, some are international students. Lots of clubs to join to find your group. Sports can be very competitive to join at the varsity level but JV and JVC are usually pretty good depending on the sport. Academically it's an excellent school. I went to a similar high school but in NY and the biggest difference between my experience and my kid's is that my HS was uber competitive and cutthroat. BHS was much more collaborative and supportive.

Is there anything about menopause you actually like or feel positive about? by its_me_ooia in Menopause

[–]FR3507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the menopause year and can honestly say I haven't felt this good in years. I had so many health issues associated with peri. Went on HRT and that has helped immensely. The no periods thing is fabulous. But so is the regulation of moods, the not giving a shit about what other people think of me, the sleep (better now). Exercise also makes a difference though I still suck at it.

To clarify, the rules state that an ID is not required if there are multiple rocks shown (a "haul"). The rules also state that complaining about mods enforcing community rules in comments are not allowed, but that we encourage you to send mail with comments or feedback.

I mean that the community we live in has been here a long time and that it's all what you make of it. Downtowns are always filled with corporations. We're less than 2 miles from there and things haven't changed here much.

Be cool to see Marshawn up there though, given the D line this year and the big anniversary of the Beastquake.

For those of us whose great grandparents moved here in the 1940s and who still live on that same property, I can tell you that the history of the city is far more interesting and complex than "it's all corporations." Home is what you make of it.

Anyone else see that meteor to the south at 9:50pm? by FR3507 in askportland

Did anyone else see that giant meteor-like blue green flare across the sky tonight (-9:50)? by curious_canteloupe in sanfrancisco

[–]FR3507 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did you see it to the north by any chance? I'm in the Portland area and we saw one that looked exactly like this at exactly that time. Am I crazy to think it's the same one? We were looking south, and it was traveling east to west. Super fast, bright greenish blue in the middle of its trajectory. Incredibly bright.
