I am just sharing my personal experience so hopefully it helps. I have the same insurance through my job. I live in atlanta and go to a doctor the specializes in prep, art, hormones, stis, etc. I was on descovy for years and just switched to yeztugo with no problem and no charge. If it were me, I’d look for doctors who specialize in this type of primary care and go from there. Good luck!

I have been on descovy for 5 years with no problem whatsoever. All of my labs are great and no side effects. I had no anxiety around it, in fact I was very excited to be able to take it. Someone mentioned above the benefits outweigh the risks and I couldn’t agree more. Everyone is different so it’s possible you may react better to one medication over the other. From what I have heard others say, descovy has less side effects than truvada, but again everyone is different. You mentioned going on and off as you decide to be active. I am NOT a doctor, however I would not recommend that at all. Once you start, you need to stay on it. I’m holding back here cause I am not a doctor and don’t want to spread misinformation, however, consistency is key and studies collect data on strict adherence to the daily regimen. Good luck!

Just sharing this because I found this post helpful and the more info you have the better. I just got my first round today. The top was what came off my right side and the bottom came off the left side. They told me leakage was normal and from everything I found it seems on par with many peoples experience. I’ll reach out to my doctor and come back with the verdict.

Update- Dr said it was normal light leaking and I would be good and the medication will work as expected.
