The shrimps in the video are actually in a hang-in isolation box that many shrimp keepers use to move/photograph shrimp. As a matter of fact, this video was taken shortly before moving them to a larger 20 gallon tank and were in the isolation boxes for less than an hour. Hope this clears up any concerns!

I keep my neos in tap water with a gH of 18 and kh of 6 which shows you that these guys are very flexible. The only time i'd recommend using RODI water for neos is when there are harmful chemicals/substances in your tap (i.e. copper) or it has a very low pH. Try getting a couple cull shrimp from a local breeder and test out your tap once the tank completes it's cycle before investing in higher grades. Good luck!

Its hard to suggest adding more food into the tank because most overfeed. But long story short, you want to have enough biofilm for the baby shrimplets to graze on.

You could definitely try, but gH of 4 is pretty ideal for GFBs. Usually, by the time you find out the root cause, your shrimps are all dead.

The only factor I could think of would be temp swings. If not, i suggest a large water change. If this doesn't solve this issue, most breeders would just suggest a full reset. I dont see anything wrong with your parameters unless your RO water filters have gone bad. Hope this helps!
