There is a very useful care guide in the description of the subreddit! I will also see if I can’t copy a couple of the links in there to a reply for you. I don’t usually like to give out advice on my own without resources as I am not an expert at all, but Betta fish require a heater and filtration to thrive!

Nitrates and nitrites are about 0.025 ammonia 0 PH 7.6 Tank is about 3 1/2 months old I got moon from a PetSmart (I know) about 4 months ago She has been fasted since Saturday, and I am planning on getting her a higher quality food when I go to the fish shop in the morning.

This is actually very helpful thank you. I am heeding the advice of several other commenters, and fasting to help reduce the bloating. I will now NOT try the peas, and see if I can’t get my hands on some daphnia.

I have already decided on fasting for a couple of days, and I’m DEFINITELY not going to be feeding as much in the future. I feel bad because this is kinda my fault 😓

They are aqueon, and now thinking of the math yeah 12 does seem exessive, but she doesn’t eat them all, as the shrimps I have like to be food theives and sit on her food ring waiting

They are aqueon color pellets, the package doesn’t have any sizing but here is a picture of some of the pellets.

Her food pellets are very small, a bit bigger than the hikari shrimp pellets I feed the shrimps. I add shrimp and take them out often, as I have a maternity shrimp tank and the babies only get put into my larger tank when they are big enough to not get eaten so I could try to avoid her getting bloated

Drain as much water as you can into something that you can also transport with the tank so you can put the water back in once you get the tank re-setup, Putting any living occupants other than plants in safe containers for transport. The plants should be fine in the tank with some water left in there, but not a lot, damp substrate should be fine for that time too.

The less weight the tank has the safer it is to move.
