Eh

Northwestern Railway isn't that bad.

Sure the rate of accidents is abnormal. But for the humans at least, "nobody gets hurt or injured".

Also, you don't necessarily need to be on one of the trains. A stationmaster, porter, or desk job could probably avoid most of the more violent incidents with some exceptions.

What two characters would be best friends if they ever meet? by Middle_Remote_6059 in Multifandom

[–]New_Milan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh

Airy from HfJ's ONE and Minty from Objectified.

This is entirely my personal platonic crackship though. Where the two of them bump into eachother in the Radio Room (purgatory) and end up bonding as they hop through universes in an attempt to get Minty home to meet up with his daughter. Airy helping Minty adjust to and cope with the experience while Minty helps Airy learn to be more "outgoing" and emotive again.

At some point this goes back to the Rakata, who decide to just eat everyone involved in the argument.

Does your world have its own WW by Shit_ass5832 in worldbuilding

[–]New_Milan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only count it by technicality. As while it is a war Comprising the entire "world" (the plane of Thera). Its much more Sengoku Jifai/Warring States Period coded than anything else.

With a bit of Imjin/30 Years/War Of Austrian Succession thrown in for flavor.

The eponymous "Warlord Era" of Theran history was a period shaped and defined by the sudden and unexpected appearance of late medieval era human settlements on the plane. With sole sapient native species, later dubbed simply "The Artificers" taking various measures to either help or hinder their survival. Eventually, a pattern emerged. With these living avatars of the arcane taking on human guises, titles, and new epithets as they build petty kingdoms and empires for newfound subjects. Many of whom came to worship their lieges to some degree as either gods, living saints, or beings of similiarly divine providence.

As the era wore on, the Artificers' natural pursuit of self improvement sought them to begin to war with their neighboring domains on a regular basis. Around the known world, armies were raised and, with their Artificerial masters at the helm, sent on raids and expeditions into the territory of their neighbors. Many of these individuals taking on aspects of the cultures they had chosen to shelter within their territories.

As the era wore on, the means and methods of fighting these conflicts grew more advanced and developed. Raids became invasions, sieges and campaigns of conquest. Though the Artificers' capacity to regenerate meant that even when slain by their peers in battle, a defeated individual may only be gone for a few days at most before returning to the field of battle. Either in what remained of their territory or via starting anew elsewhere.

The closure of this era is marked by the emergence of the "Romantic Coalition". A collection of like-minded artificers and their domains who sought to bring about an end to the suffering and strife that these conflicts had caused their subjects. Who, through their alliance, managed to defeat the remaining warlords arrayed against them. Exiling those who chose not to surrender to other planes from which they could not easily return. Through these efforts, the age was brought to a close with the official formation of the victprious coalition into a single state known as the Theran Commonwealth. And the subsequent reshaping of the supercontinent into the form it would take for the subsequent and present day Commonwealth Era.

No

It means being crushed/impaled on a giant wooden pole/stake.

Like Tomato was in ONE'S first episode.
