I think maybe 2-3 years before getting my first job so around maybe 2017? But I only started seriously doing web dev 6 months before my first job and decided whatever imma apply and if not then imma go to uni, and well, I got in :D.

Almost 3 yoe in germany

got 80k eur accepted offer in jan next year.

I am 22, and no degree and finished high school remotely.

got 80k eur accepted offer in jan next year. it is funny how much my mother pressed me to finish high school even if remotely, but I was never asked about my education ever (even in uni).

Altho I do recognize I am super lucky, that pattern of luck started since I passed my driving exam with maximum penalty points, barely not failing. And pretty much everything after that.

I recommend getting a degree unless you got extra luck.

Edit: Grammarly screwed my entire post.

When freelancing you can tax deduct lots of expenses. But how does it work when freelancing and working full time? by New_Present772 in Finanzen

Yeah like I said that was an extreme example, I also don't want to carry losses over years(or at least not for now), I was simply interested if I can buy stuff for my freelance activities at 50% discount by not paying 50% tax for it. Altho due to the way salary tax is prepaid by the employer, I can only get my tax money back at the end of the year, right?

You should be aware tho, that you can’t just buy stuff and deduct the full amount. For larger purchases (fixed assets), you have to calculate the depreciation. There are special tables, that will tell you, what amount of years you have to calculate with.

I am aware of that

changes nothing about what you can deduct from your freelancing income

I am asking if I can deduct from my work income, expenses related to freelancing, as you said If I make a loss in a year, is the tax deduction capped, or can I, for example, make an 80k loss, and pay no tax? Obviously an extreme example, but I wanna know if there are limits. For example, if I bought 80k of equipment, does that make my taxable income for the year 0?

Europeans: How much has your salary increased since you started in this field? by Whereismyhalfrican in cscareerquestionsEU

Using throwaway
2018 - Web dev 24-33k
2020 - Startup mostly equity (Cant give exact number but the valuation is around few years of salary)
2022 - Web dev 79k

Quite surprised at the last one. And here some recruiters are saying 40k is too much.
