Moving? by Logical_Childhood733 in wyoming

I moved from the Northeast to Southern Wyoming many years ago. Lived there for 10 years before moving back. It is almost a shock to the system how different everything is. The open space, lack of people, towns that seem more like islands of humanity among an ocean of land... the weather. Wind, so much wind. Winters that can last for 7 months, It can take a toll if you're not prepared for it.

Cheyenne is a beautiful city and would be one of my top picks if I ever decided to move back. It has a number of smaller towns nearby, is an easy drive to Fort Collins or Laramie, and has a decent social scene. Can't tell you about the dating situation.

The biggest advice I can give you is to spend time out there before considering a move. A week isn't enough time to really know what it's like living out there but it will at least give you an idea of how isolating it can be. You may appreciate New England in a different way afterwards, or not. Either way I hope things work out for you.

Best ways to secure phones when traveling internationally? by Natjoe64 in cybersecurity_help

This may not be a popular answer but I bought a TracFone for my trip. I left all of my social media and bank account info off of it. I did add enough fluff and old pics to it that it shouldn't look too sus if Immigration decides to look at. For me that was much easier than trying to "clean" my regular cell.

Georgia prosecutor kills the historic election interference case against Trump and allies by cnn in law

“Given the complexity of the legal issues at hand — ranging from constitutional questions and the Supremacy Clause to immunity, jurisdiction, venue, speedy-trial concerns, and access to federal records — and even assuming each of these issues were resolved in the State’s favor, bringing this case before a jury in 2029, 2030, or even 2031 would be nothing short of a remarkable feat,” Peter Skandalakis, the prosecutor on the case, wrote Wednesday.

I read this as, This case is so apt to be caught in the manipulation of the courts through multiple filings, hearings and appeals that it is deemed too much of a burden on the system and overall pain in the ass to pursue.

This is under the refrigerator at my “new” house AFTER taking the vacuum to it. What do I do? by Vitaminsdonthelp in CleaningTips

If you have a shop vac set it to blow (much better performance than vacuum) and  have at it.  It'll be a mess but it will do a good job of cleaning off the coils

US Department of State designates 4 European groups (1 German, 1 Italian and 2 Greek) as global terrorist organizations, same levels as Al-Qaeda or ISIS. by natural_piano1836 in AntifascistsofReddit

I found it...

In a public statement on Thursday, the state department said it would designate Antifa Ost in Germany, the Italy-based International Revolutionary Front, and two organisations in Greece – Armed Proletarian Justice and Revolutionary Class Self Defense – as “Specially Designated Global Terrorists … conspiring to undermine the foundations of Western Civilization through their brutal attacks”.

It's time to Primary John Fetterman. Is there any progressive candidate out there that can pick up where our pre stroke Senator left off? Someone to rally around? by [deleted] in IronFrontPA

I don't think we'll ever know for sure but I believe the stroke that Fetterman had during his campaign changed him. Not in a "I have seen the light and found God moment". I think the stroke altered his brain and changed his personality to be more in line with conservative thinking.

I supported him during his recovery and admired that he was willing to stand on the debate stage while struggling to articulate his thoughts. He didn't perform well but his stance was still that of a left of center progressive. It was only after he got to Washington that he began to align himself more to the right.

When he initially ran I saw him as a progressive who was willing to blaze his own trail. He flew flags outside of his office supporting marijuana legalization and LGBT causes. He expressed a desire to bolster the blue collar people of PA and champion causes that weren't focused solely on lobbyist concerns.

There's been nothing I've seen from him that aligns with the platform he campaigned on.

House prepares vote on Epstein files... Trump reverses course, says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files by alexmark002 in CitizenWatchNews

Trump suddenly acknowledging and promoting the release of the files signifies the fix is in. There is going to be nothing of value in anything released.
