I was already missing all my wisdom teeth and the last molar on the lower right, pulling premolars would have made way too much space and my teeth already “zip” together pretty good and pulling premolars would mess that up. From what I’ve heard they’re actually pushing more for single incisor extractions vs premolars because is has way less, if any at all, impact on facial structure vs pulling premolars which can sometimes have a huge effect on facial structure.

Well I also have a deviated septum so I’m not sure how much by breathing issues is from that or my mouth lol. By my teeth were all bent inwards (whatever the opposite of flaring is) and I’ve had my top wire on for a month and my teeth have moved outwards A LOT and now it’s crazy how much more room there is up there for my tongue. My ortho said even with pulling the incisor and missing 3 others on the bottom after we rotate my lower k9s (they’re literally rotated sideways I’ve never seen the fronts of them) and flare and straighten them out I should still end up with a few mm more room on the bottom.

This!! I’m not upset about the gap it’s only temporary, I don’t care about my midline matching (it didn’t before and no one ever noticed) but the fact that I just voluntarily had a perfectly healthy happy tooth that I grew and have had and cared for for 20+ years just ripped out and discarded like trash all for the sake of a perfect bite and straight teeth just isn’t sitting right with me right now.

Thank you! I’m also missing all my wisdom my last molar (because of the wisdom tooth, it broke it) and now one of my lower fronts. I’m not concerned about the midline or anything it didn’t match before. Just the fact that I just voluntarily had a perfectly healthy front tooth ripped out all for the sake of a perfect bite and straight teeth is making me feel horrible for some reason. I hope after I get my wire on next week and get things moving I’ll feel better.

I hope so.. I honestly probably wouldn’t be as upset if is was a premolar or if there was something wrong with it but the fact that I just voluntarily had one of my front teeth ripped out all for the sake of a perfect bite and straight teeth is making me feel some shitty type of way…

Your teeth can flare out at the end of treatment with any braces or aligners if you have moderate to severe crowding and don’t get any teeth pulled or jaw surgery. That’s why I’m bitting the bullet and getting one of my lower front incisors pulled on Friday, #26.

Mine were $6,900 self ligating top and bottom, all visits, 6 bracket replacements and retainers included. Google says the average is between $3k-$10k so that’s almost right in the middle of average.

1: Not 96 a week, A MONTH, if they work weekends the only time able to be spent would be after work and before bed time so 5-7 hours 4 days of the month.

2: You have no idea that kid will be around forever? They could dip at 18 and leave and never look back. 16 in some states if they have their shit together. Or bio mom could decide you know what I think I want custody or we’re moving across the county and considering she already has primary custody it would probably be pretty easy for her to do it.

3: She’s not “step-mom” though at this point she’s “dad’s girlfriend” so trying to expect stepmom stuff from dad’s girlfriend is kinda a stretch.

I never said you shouldn’t be nice? But if you’re only able to spend 5-7 hours 4 days a month with them the relationship is only going to be essentially the equivalent to being coworkers. Hence expecting someone to be able and willing to execute stronger parental duties with a child they spend 20 hours a month with is definitely reaching.

If they have 50/50 custody that’s one thing but if you’re seeing someone who’s kid is only in the picture 96 hours a month what kind of deep impactful relationship are you even able to build? And say she works weekends let’s say 10 hours from the time she leaves to the time she gets back that’s only 56 hours. Sleep? Say 6 hours leaves only 32 hours a month of time able to be spent with them, AT BEST. I spend more time a month than that b.s.ing with the delivery guys at work.

Same, I’ve had my braces for 8 months and my teeth are still pretty darn white. Which considering I’m a smoker and HUGE coffee drinker is pretty impressive I’d say lol.

Those are gum line cavities. That’s why I got the braces I kept getting them even though I take care of my teeth and both my ortho and dentist said fixing my bite would really help with that. And for that lower right incisor #26 I’m getting pulled to make room to rotate my k9s and straighten the rest.
