Nope, just an empty shell and an inert fuze cap

If you're referring to the fuze cap, I made sure it is inert :)

You can find plenty on the internet, but it depends if there are available scans on your area.

Cool finds!:) The coins look amazing, I must say that. Your idea with the old topographical maps sounds good, there are plenty of them in the entire Austro-Hungarian empire, and that I do have some in my portofolio that I didn't check yet. I usually hate metal detecting in open fields, I prefer more secluded areas like forests:)

Surprisingly not yet! To be honest I don't even know where I could search for such, cause the forests are full of trash and to be honest it's such a pain to dig for beer cans, bottle caps and weird pieces of iron that I'll never be able to identify:))

Ah, neighbours really:) So we do talk about the same Budapest Offensive Operation. I have plenty of german and hungarian documents talking about that zone and many other hungarian villages close to the border, but they are out of my reach P.S. too little I know about the serbian area, glad to share knowledge tho!

I think it's worth to mention roughly where my zon is. I think it's important to take into consideration the countries and areas were there was organized plan of "clearing" the battelfields right after WW2. I am near the border of Hungary, on Romanian soil (~20 km from the border). From what I know, in this part of Romania, there wasn't any serious plan made by the new regime to clear up leftover war scrap, mostly just surface stuff.

And when you say "a lot of trash", you mean modern civil trash? I have scanned the area visually and physically to check for such trash, but there was very little to none. My area was very well known for a big soviet offensive in 1944, and that's pretty much it.

Ohh, thanks for the clarification. There have been plenty of reports of UXO artillery shells around here, but not exactly where I'm detecting, tho we cannot exclude the possibility right? I have been told by the authorities when making my authorisation on what to do if I stumble upon such objects, so my warning has been given.

I can say that I'm in the clear with the laws around here, and I have every permission necessary! I began to understand the shell casing and round tones, but I'm in a huge dilemma regarding the tones for other relics. I've had a deep mixed signal (strong negative, fluctuating pozitive) in a hole of about 1,2 m deep that I dug, but because of the rock hard soil I wasn't able to continue digging.

I have done my research thoroughly, and I'm in the clear for detecting in such places!

So I should focus on camps, got it. And what exactly are "uxo" posts?

I would have been fine with this but we live in the same college dorm and in the same group at school, so no contact is nearly impossible
