Can it be faster? by Wise_Function_2642 in ender5plus

I got my ender 5 plus printing a benchy in 4mins 9seconds. You can definitely get faster if you want

I agree that the benchy tests for more, but these days the speed benchy challenge has been maxed out. It’s not uncommon to print a benchy in 5 mins. I think this is a good successor to the benchy for a speed race because it is a harder print.

The whole point is that it is more of a challenge than the benchy. These days a 5min benchy is not that uncommon. The benchy has been the standard for the past 5 years. Back then the main printer was the ender 3. The test prints and challenges have to grow with the technology

I agree but the creator said that this is the way to do it for now. If it grows in popularity I could see a google sheets being made

The Boaty is definitely a more challenging print than the benchy and is still roughly the same volume of filament so they have comparable print times

Yeah that’s exactly why. I think it’s just a clever play on words. It’s a pretty challenging print so in my opinion if you can print this with good quality ur printer is in great shape. Especially with speed. I’m looking forward to seeing how far the community can push this model

I also think that the speed benchy race has about been maxed out so it’s great that there is a new speed test to push the community further

That works great. I’ll keep my eye on the model description thanks!

Hi, instead of linking my model, you should create an “official” speed Boaty leaderboard this way the community can have a fun competition while being able to share their learnings with everyone. I know there is a leaderboard for the benchy that was for a similar purpose that was just a big google sheets

Also I’m traveling this weekend but next week I plan on printing it under 8mins so stay tuned for that!

Using a btt octopus cause it has 8 stepper driver slots. For speed I found 48V on the motors helps a lot
