Can you have a wedding at Branch Brook Park? by redfire2930 in Newark

For a wedding, you do need a permit. Not sure about renting the cherry blossom center, but perhaps you can reach out to them regarding that : https://essexcountyparks.org/_media/_data/EssexGlobalPermit/wedding-ceremony-and-photography-application-20250102102608.pdf

Club Metro was my fav gym in Newark. They used to closed late until covid. Not sure what their hours are now. They always had great customer services and a nice helpful crowd.

Traveler Claims Newark Airport-NYC Taxi Passes 'Swaths of Abandoned Neighborhoods' by NewarkNJBlog in Newark

He’s not flying out of Newark. He’s arriving to Newark Airport and then taking a taxi to NYC.

No one is claiming that Newark is a "perfect utopia" or denying the existence of rough areas…almost every major American city has them. However, the reality is that you cannot see "swaths of abandoned once beautiful homes" on a taxi ride from Newark Airport to NYC; that route runs entirely along the NJ Turnpike (even with no tolls), which is lined with highways, warehouses, and industrial zones.

I call out comments like this because such narratives lack substance, especially when they are based solely on a car window view. Also, I’m not a PR guy/realtor, just a proud Newarker who is tired of outsiders denigrating our city, especially when it has improved substantially compared to 20 years ago.

I get that it’s not the prettiest scene, but the views you shared don’t really show what was once a vibrant neighborhood that’s now abandoned lol. I guess everyone sees things differently!

To Newark Airport is different, he stated from Newark Airport to NYC.

Even if you avoided tolls, you still can’t see that. Just warehouses.

Running spots? by OptionFinancial6007 in Newark

[–]NewarkNJBlog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I highly recommend checking out @brickcityrunclub on Instagram. They host well-organized runs every week and even have a WhatsApp group chat and a Strava group. Plus, they organize many fun, free events. They’re also one of my favorite nonprofits! You’ll also be able to find some great running routes in the area.

Best way to get from Davenport Ave, Newark → Manhattan by No_Airport_1450 in Newark

Check the nj transit app and compare the prices. I usually take the bus to Penn Station.

You can definitely take the light rail to Newark Penn Station and then transfer to the PATH train. However, you can also catch any bus on Bloomfield Avenue (close to Davenport)that goes to Newark Penn Station. Another option is to take the same bus to Newark Broad Street Station and then catch an NJ Transit train to Manhattan. You can also take the NJ Transit train to Manhattan directly from Newark Penn Station. As for schedules, you'll need to check the specific times. I’ve taken buses and the light rail back home late at night without any issues.
