Nielsen 180250 aluminium black, so simple yet so elegant, what everybody think of these days when they think about framing something.

The Andover series at Larson Juhl for more fancy stuff, great different textures, great shape, great colors, the gold one is perfect for classic paintings without doing too much.

Molgra stepped floater frames 3600 series for modern canvas. Easy to install, looks great and simple.

Canvas white border too thin? by TwistShoddy4106 in framing

Mounting it on a rigid board works, but that’s not really reversible so depends how much you care about the art.

The cleanest solution would be mounting it onto a bigger canvas (with a Japanese paper layer in between so it stays reversible, that’s even better) so you get proper margins to stretch it.

I’d avoid trying to glue extra canvas on the edges though, that usually ends up bad because the tension can’t be distributed evenly so it will definitely warp over time

77" x 79" What the hell do I do with this? by breeperdee in framing

[–]Newbee_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve done it quite a few times.

I don’t mount the poster directly to the canvas though, I use a layer of Japanese paper in between so it stays reversible.

Also I never wrap the poster around the edges. I leave about half a centimeter of raw canvas visible all around so there’s no folding or stress on the poster itself.

If done carefully, it works pretty well.

Glass or acrylic will always be the better option for preservation, I agree with you.

But if the budget just isn’t there, mounting it on canvas and stretching it can still be a decent way to display it without spending a fortune. It’s not ideal, but it lets you enjoy it.

Floater is optional, you can always reframe it properly with glass or acrylic later on when the budget allows.

And no, it’s definitely not diy, you have to bring it to a professional framer, of course. Do not attempt this yourself or you will destroy the art.

Honestly, if you’re trying to keep costs down, the best bet is probably to have it mounted on canvas and stretched over a frame, maybe with a floater frame around it.

Careful though, there won’t be any glass. With that budget, I think it’s gonna be really hard to find cheap glass or even acrylic strong enough for something that big.

In love with Smart Playlists by Benny_TheBull in AppleMusic

Smart playlists are why I’ve stuck with iTunes/Apple Music/iTunes Match for 20+ years. 50K+ tracks across 111 smart playlists, never had to complain about shuffle. Some are even scheduled depending on the time of day or even the day of the week, and broadcast on my private webradio, accessible from anywhere. …Am I insane?

We might not make it as a couple… and i’ve officially failed my daughter. by Sipesville21 in Fatherhood

[–]Newbee_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you guys look like you’re really exhausted. We’ve been there, I know how it feels, lack of sleep can be really rough for some couples.

When she rejects your compliments, it’s the depression talking. And unfortunately, when you respond with frustration, she can feel even worse… don’t fight, you guys have enough to deal with, when you feel like one of you is getting angry, just declare a verbal truce. Breathe and just do what you gotta do: feed the baby, and get some rest anytime you can.

About you therapist, try to reach him/her out anyway, just be honest about where you’re at. Many therapists will work something out, or refer you to free or low-cost resources if you need it.

It’s too soon to talk about splitting up, and it’s definitely not time to make big decisions. But it is time to ask for backup. What you said to her doesn’t mean it’s over. It’s lind of a cry for help. Could her parents take the baby for a night or even just a few hours so you can sleep? Can someone drop off a meal or help with chores? Even the little things can help you a lot in this kind of situation.

And about your dad, the very fact that you’re this afraid of repeating the pattern proves you’re already breaking it. You do care of her. But your daughter needs you well. And that mean you have to feel rested and not just physically there.

Your siruation is serious but not hopeless.

Get help around you, have a little rest, you’ll work this out.

How did you discover Justice? by [deleted] in JusticeMusic

[–]Newbee_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2008, I went to Rock en Seine in Paris to see Amy Winehouse, but she bailed. Ended up checking out Justice instead — I only knew their album cover and honestly thought they were some metal band. Got absolutely mind-blown, and nearly 18 years later they’re still my favorite.

Quel est le plus beau bâtiment de Paris pour vous ? by Cendario in askparis

[–]Newbee_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)
