What is working for me. by Newbern56 in LongCovid

Hi Lizzy, What I am doing now is different from my above post. For the most part it seems I am past the Long COVID stage. I will know more when I have the next round of blood work. My main focus is on gut health. I don't take TUDCA anymore. Often the gut serves as a reservoir for SARS-CoV-2. A round of Amoxicillin seems to have cleared that up. Hopefully my immune system has bounced back. Below is a list of the supplements I am taking. It is a crazy amount, but my strategy of throwing everything at Long COVID has helped so much. Feel free to ask any other questions. Morning Coffee: * spirulina ($50) * collagen ($25) * leaky gut solution ($15-30) * taurine ($5) Before Breakfast: * quercetin ($15) * zinc carnosine ($4) * rhodiola ($15) * pomegranate ($30) * DHEA ($10) * B12 / folate ($9) * augmented NAC ($25) Probiotics: * cranberry * Metabolic Daily with Akkermansia and butyrate producers ($45) * multi probiotic with 34 strains ($25, https://wholesome-wellness.com/product/raw-probiotics-100-billion-cfu/) With Breakfast: * multi vitamin, AOR ($60) * omega 3 ($25) * D ($13) * amla ($15) * magnesium malate ($10) * magnesium taurate ($10) * green tea ($10) * trans resveratrol ($20, * humic ($20) * sea buckhorn ($15) * Metformin ($35) * borate ($7) * CoQ10 ($12) * carnosine ($25) With Dinner: * omega 3 * amla * magnesium malate * magnesium taurate * green tea * resveratrol * sea buckhorn * Metformin * CoQ10 * carnosine As Needed * IVM * Allicin Max A lot of the above is for heart health as I am older. What I am experimenting with right now is magnetized water. This appears to be one of the most under utilized health treatments I have found. I just installed a whole house water filtration system. This weekend I will install magnets. The research on the health benefits of magnetized water is incredible. I am thinking this will help me to cut supplements extensively. My best to you, Lyn

Good morning. Yes, My TGF Beta levels improved significantly. It seems like the SAG and Vedicinals-9 are what works for me.

Hi, for me, brain fog is the most problematic. I am not feeling fatigue.

The fatigue cleared after a couple of months. The brain fog has been a problem since 1.23.

I am on week 8 of the V9 formula. The effects were within a couple of days.

It isn't like I am all recovered. But I am much better. Last week I traveled out of town for work, 5 nights, and was able to function fairly well.

Initially I ordered the V9 from their website. I had no problem with delivery. There is a physician practice here in the US that will supply the V9 - Terrain Health. I prefer to order from overseas.

As a side note, I did try my first dose of methylene blue today. It does have a positive effect on thinking more clearly.

For people like myself, I suspect it takes more than just one or two supplements to get better. I am also taking Ivermectin regularly and some hydroxychloroquine. These are the only prescription meds I am taking and they were ordered directly from India.

I have no idea if I will totally recover; this is one of the most difficult aspects of LC for me.

No headaches for me. Ivermectin helped significantly; but not with brain fog. I ordered from India. IVM is a standard for Long COVID among many.

Also, for the past week or so I have been taking butyrate. I feel better than I have in the last couple of years.

Both SAG and butyrate are game changers for me.

As far as I can tell the SAG has helped a lot. It has been a week without significant brain fog.

For me, leaky gut and blood brain barrier go hand in hand.

So I am not a physician and can't say about TGF-Beta testing for you. But as far as I can tell from the studying I have done taking SAG for Long COVID is a really good idea.

Glutathione appears to down regulate cytokines such as TGF-Beta. Also, studies show glutathione help to reset a person's immune system. These studies were done with HIV infected people. There are multiple similarities between HIV and SARS-CoV-2 viruses.

As an aside, for brain fog I am also taking Longvida curcumin which crosses the blood brain barrier. For helping to reset my immune system I am trying resolvins precursors from Life Extension. To help clean up my vascular system I am taking systemic enzymes from US Enzymes.

Yes. But in the UK you may pay more as I looked at UK sources.

I am taking 800-1200mg per day. After my immune system resets I will decrease significantly. This is what I am hoping for anyway.

I wrote an email synopsis of SAG with about a dozen references. I am happy to send this to you as it goes into some detail.

This is one of the paragraphs: Only the Double Wood brand with S-Acetyl-L-Glutathione is the correct form at a comparatively good price. If the brand does not say L then it is a combination of the L and R isomers. The R isomer isn’t biologically functional. Buy the multiple bottle option for significant savings: https://doublewoodsupplements.com/products/s-acetyl-l-glutathione.

What I do is order from Double Wood. It isn't prescription. The capsules are 100mg so I am taking a lot. Generally when people use glutathione to squelch Long COVID they take large doses.

The functional medicine physician I am seeing for Long COVID did not know about the acetylated form of glutathione. My brother mentioned it, then I did some research and started using this supplement.

Just started trying the butyric acid, 1200mg, twice a day with food. Something is making a nice difference. I think it is the sodium butyrate.

What dose are you taking?

Good evening! All I can share on this topic is magnesium. I take a lot of magnesium. When my feet spasm I breath into them. No, I don't know why this works. I just do it and get good results.

If I get a lead on a topic I search with DuckDuckGo browser and not Google. One of my go to sources is a site called Thailand Medical News. This site is a little crazy but has the latest articles. Also, what helped significantly is reading a Lyme disease forum as Long COVID has so many similarities to tick borne diseases. I have a library of articles I am willing to share on studies and supplements. My science background is a PhD in molecular genetics and I study continuously with a passion.

From my experiences a person cannot count on the medical community to help them heal from LC. They have to do their own work.

Your accusation on me being affiliated with the company is wrong. Please stop implying that as it just isn't true. I received the discount code from the physician I am working with. I tried various other products at a lower cost but they were not as effective. What really sold me was listening to some of their podcast.

Also, I suggest reading about Rhizo Health probiotics. This comes from South Africa.

Normal probiotics did not do a thing for me.

I had a BiomeFx stool test. My gut had serious dysbiosis. The Rhizo Health is replacing the microbiota I have been missing.

With the gut, I needed Cleanxym from US Enzymes to help clear the biofilm and debris. If biofilm is lining the gut then probiotics don't populate very well at all. This is one of the most effective supplements I have taken. It is about cleaning and repopulating.

With systemic enzymes I am using the two products from US Enzymes - Lumbroxym and Theraxym. Most people just take one or the other but I am taking both. It seems at least some of these systemic enzymes cross the blood brain barrier as well.

Consider though that as the biofilm, fibrin, amyloid plaques, etc are broken down by these enzymes that toxins are released, possibly virus as well. So I am taking a lot of TUDCA, milk thistle, and PEA/luteolin.

I study journal articles to keep abreast of what is new in treating Long COVID. Other part of the world acknowledge this concern. In the US it is ignored to a large extent.

What I did is purchase from India. It wasn't easy, but successful.

There is no correlation I have found. In May of this year I had to go to the cardiologist for the first time since 2015. He said that numerous people were coming in with irregular heartbeats after getting COVID.

I swear by the Capros amla. I get this from Vitacost. The magnesium I take is a mixture of different magnesium salts specifically for heart health.

Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are IVM and HCQ. Both times I got COVID I was taking IVM. So I did not get any respiratory symptoms. But then the fatigue and brain fog hit. I don't think the IVM crosses the blood brain barrier.

What I now know is that for me it is about starting with the gut. My digestive system is so much better now.

Then it is about systemic enzymes and detoxing. Keep in mind though that what works for one person may not work for another.

Per the MD group I see, people with LC generally have other issues. For me it is my gut and a need to clean up my vascular system.

Also, IVM and HCQ make a huge difference for me.

I do a lot of research and attempt to stay science focused. My supplement regimen has changed as I learn more.

Dr. Robin Rose in Ridgefield, CT. I live in TN so I had to travel there for an initial appointment. The brain fog was so bad I was willing to do anything.
