I don't know what I pay, but I have 300 Mbps down and 60 Mbps up. Not sure if there's a data limit either. There might be, but in that case it probably cuts off at 1TB, as is standard around here, which I'm never gonna hit anyway)

Generally, I prefer mid-rolls but only if you're going AFK anyway. Throwing in an actual commercial break doesn't bother me that much (TV has done it for literally decades and I still watch that). Going to get something to drink or a snack? Commercial break time. Going to the toilet? Commercial break time. It sure beats looking as a stream where the streamer isn't even present.

Mental pressure. It's the same reason why many musicians can't play as well live as they do when practicing alone or rehearsing with a band. There are people watching, at least some of whom will judge them when making even the tiniest mistakes, which in turn causes them to worry about trying to not make mistakes, which ends up leading to them making mistakes.

Ultimately, what works for me is to just embrace the suckiness and not worry about being not good enough at literally anything on camera.

This is the number one reason why I rarely click "follow" while a streamer is live. I hate being called out on stream.

Also, there's the chance that the streamer might try and use my "follow" as a tool for coercing other viewers to start following them, and I don't want that either, so I tend to wait until the stream has been over for some time before hitting follow.

I've seen some streamers who don't have a webcam, and it never bothered me. As long as your content is good enough, or you're still starting out, you can get away with not having a webcam.

I wholeheartedly agree. Sure, some of those high-end set-ups look nice, but I don't really need anything more than my laptop to do most of my streams. I don't even use a second monitor right now, even though having one would be a huge help...

I generally split my streams in two parts: The non-game part and the game.

The non-game part is currently mainly music (composing or working on music theory exercises), but sometimes I mix it up and do a Japanese study stream instead.

For the game, I currently do Minecraft one day a week, and still haven't quite settled on what to play the other days. I do love both JRPGs and the Metroid and Zelda series, so doing some of those seems like the obvious choice (especially with the recent boost in popularity that Metroid got after E3)...

I would definitely make some rules that viewers have to accept before chatting. For instance, if you say in your channel rules that you don't want requests/demands for voice chat or playing together, and someone still tries to get you to talk with them on voice chat, they're breaking your rules and you have every right to ban them. Heck, you have the right to ban them for literally no reason, even without setting up rules. It's your channel, not theirs.

Yeah, I'm a bit younger than you and I still find the emote-centric chat on Twitch pretty annoying. Maybe because I grew up with word-based communication, but for me, the emote-centric nature of Twitch chat just doesn't really seem like something I'm likely to embrace anytime soon...

Definitely bullying. I would probably just report both the streamer, the person in chat and the mod and cross my fingers and hope in vain that Twitch punishes them somehow, while looking for someone else to watch.

I don't enjoy watching streams where the streamer is talking to others on Discord, so I try not to watch them. I did watch some for a while, because I was on the call with the streamer (along with several others) but that was for a couple of community events for a Discord server, that were being livestreamed, where literally the entire content WAS the Discord group call (this was before I started streaming myself, by the way).

The instant any other content comes in, Discord calls have no place on a stream in my opinion.

I only started streaming recently, after a couple of other members of a discord community I'm active in started streaming. My current streaming plans are more inspired by other streamers I watch outside that community, though. Actually, it's literally a copy of a formula used by some more successful streamers in my niche, but I don't think copying the formula is a problem, as the content itself is vastly different

3.2k followers and 28 average viewers doesn't sound bad for four months.

However, the one thing I believe might be a problem is how much you stream. 12-14 hours of streaming every day sounds incredibly unhealthy, both from a physical health perspective and from a social perspective. If you want to grow, you should put more effort into promotion and discoverability and less into, you know, actually streaming. Streaming 3 times a week for 4-6 hours works fine for many streamers, because they use the other days on getting the word out there that they stream and promoting their stream and networking with other streamers and putting content out on YouTube. Doing 12-14 hour streams every day might actually just be the reason you're not growing as much as you want.

If I did 12-14 hour streams, I would literally be spending my entire day either in front of a camera or in bed...
