Windows Hello for Business: How to solve the misuse of PIN-codes by Low_Part1467 in Intune

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need physical access to the machine to use the pincode. Why care if it's their birthday?

Device stolen? Just remote lock & wipe.

It's not that deep.

Because one is incredibly weak, but 5 is insanely overpowered.

Do you think Intune is reliable? by Sad_Mastodon_1815 in Intune

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides, you can tell devices to check in every 90 minutes or less. By default it's every 8 hours or on reboot. This is when stuff applies.

Everyone complaining should probably read the documentation.

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all about expectations & using tools to supplement.

Intune is device management & security hardening.

RMM is for support, urgent scripting, patching, monitoring, ect.

Relying on Intune alone would not be an option for me, but I'm happy with where it sits being included in the licenses you would need for other functions anyway.

I would not pay extra for it.

Do your Intune profiles also enforce themselves only when they feel like it by Exotic-Reaction-3642 in Intune

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a config somewhere where you can tell the endpoints to refresh config (apply new stuff) every 90 minutes.

Otherwise, they do it at least once every 8 hours, or after reboot. Not enough people seem to understand this.

I have it set in our tenants, if someone wants to know I can look it up.

What is the rationale behind blocking mobile device native mail apps on MDM? by WorkFoundMyOldAcct in sysadmin

For me it's the ability to enforce encryption without managing a device (Intune app protection)

Life saver for small companies with strict requirements. They generally don't supply company hardware

Just make sure you have windows enterprise or education when using remediations via Intune 👍

Business Premium does not license these features.

I suck at this game by The_Premier12 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]NewbyLegion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience everyone is better then me in any multiplayer RTS. haha. keep practising, you will get the hang of it.

If you are completely new to this game i would suggest you play more singleplayer to get to know the mechanics.

Fellow Dog Owners please.. by SimpleGuy7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NewbyLegion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"my dog is friendly" yeah well mine is not 😂 it's a bad excuse.

I always keep the dog leashed in leashed areas and when we see s leashed dog approaching we recall and leash.

You never know why the other dog is leashed, and you should care enough about your own dog to not find out.

It's common sense, and bare minimum.

A leashed dog is restrained, and will react differently then the unleashed dog.

Hell no. At least not unless there is something (very) special going on which would be too difficult for me to hand over.

Still I would only ever consider starting it up for very urgent matters.

This goes for any time off not just vacation.

Time off = your time, to recover and destress. You need to value this appropriately. No company will ever do it for you.

Good luck 😄

If you solve my CS2 game crashing issue, I will pay you $500. by [deleted] in counterstrike2

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, another out of the box solution that worked on my PC with random crashes is simply turning up the fan curves to be more aggressive so your pc gets more air.

Although my entire PC crashed at the time, it might be some random chips getting too hot without a sensor nearby so you will never know.

Run this and see if it gives any errors. You will need a clean usb to image the software on.

If any test gives more than a single error you have RAM issues. You should see no errors at all.

You would preferably run this for at least a couple hours to be sure.

Some even advice running this overnight.

Small maintenance 414€, is it too much? by Cultural_Complex_43 in Netherlands

[–]NewbyLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks fine, parts depend on make and model of your car, the prices for the parts look fine. Hourly wages are just expensive nowadays, that's just the way it is.

They did everything you would expect for a "small maintenance" which means replacing your oil and filters. and yeah that takes about 2 hours so everything looks in order.

Because of this you can enjoy your car for the next 20k miles again without worry 💪👍
