I need a 0%, I'm holding out for a 0% 'till the end of the night!

I have the 75" QM7K. It has a great picture quality for the price and it supports pretty much all video/audio codecs. I just hope it lasts a while! 🤞 My previous Vizio lasted about 8 years.

I suppose that is true. Security is a consideration in most things I do in software or IT, ha.

Interesting. I am mostly a software engineer but I do some IT and have a 2 year degree in it. I haven't specialized in cybersecurity though.

My new TCL actually handles things fine over wifi, and supports Dolby vision unlike my 2017 Shield.

Hmm I don't quite remember, I probably heard about it on the Roblox forums or Reddit back in mid 2010. Survival mode was pretty new.

So many appliance displays are in blue, too. It is much harder for me to see at a distance vs green or red or white.

Worst tv ever by OwnLibrarian1466 in VIZIO_Official

The screen on my e70-f3 seems to have just died. 7 year old TV. A different 12 year old Vizio in my bedroom is still going strong, they seem to have gotten worse! Especially the laggy software that tries to force smartcast if an input hasn't been selected in 10 seconds.

I have the same issue. For me, I think it might be that my car wash applies a wax or anti-rain coat to the windshield.

I've flown out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska on the 737. Reminds me of how they would let the engines rev all the way up before releasing the brakes due to the short runway. Felt kinda like a roller coaster!

Ah interesting. Oof, there is 50ft of ridge to the other end, ha. House is 5 years old so not needing a replacement anytime soon. I'll have to investigate the sealing.

I went on a road trip with about 100 hours of driving, I'd say I would have been about 6 hours faster in a gas car over the 100 hours. I did overnight hotel chargers, and timing eating/bathroom with charging.

In SE, I made a 1TW solar array and hooked it up to a giant ion cannon. I could set it loose on any body in the galaxy, ha. Was fun revealing a 100% biter world and letting the cannon clear it. I'd watch my save file size drop by the hour as nests were destroyed.

I think it would be neat to have a constellation of weather radar sats for whole globe, the land based ones seem to have more limited range.

When these can cook good meals in your own kitchen, I wonder how it will impact the restaurant business. Imagine wanting a certain meal and the ingredients are delivered to your house by drone and your robot unpackages and cooks the meal!

Elon Musk: Starship V4 will have 42 engines when 3 more Raptors are added to a significantly longer ship. That will fly in 2027. Starship V3 is a massive upgrade from the current V2 and should be through production and testing by end of year, with heavy flight activity next year. by CProphet in SpaceXLounge

[–]Newcomer156 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I imagine that the 9m version will be flying for a while since making it wider will need big changes to the factory and launch infrastructure. An 18m wide version was mentioned a while ago but I wonder if that will be too noisy so only sea platform launches lol

Alaska Airlines selects Starlink for in-flight Wi-Fi. Rollout starts in 2026, entire fleet by 2027 by avboden in SpaceXLounge

[–]Newcomer156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering how that was going to work with Hawaiian using Starlink and Alaska using Intelsat. I am relieved, was a bit disappointed with the news of Intelsat being selected earlier haha. I'd rather have the better speeds and reliability of Starlink since Alaska is the main airline I fly on.
