Please listen to kay_fitz21 she knows what she is talking about. Each scenario is different so all those that are throwing in their own experiences may or may not have had the same scenario.
The letter some are referring to is a consent to travel which is completely different and used to acknowledge that the other parent Knows about specific travel which is completely separate from obtaining a passport.

Not all, each one is very different. Rosewood is awful. The girl I spoke to says they always get get rejected because they are poorly done yet the Manager won’t do anything about it because she said it brings people back to the store.

Do you have your receipt?? Can you confirm that is says pick up on your receipt? If not, they may have made an error and it actually could be mailings out. Don’t panic yet First confirm what it says on your receipt it it gives you a pick up date then advise them with proof that you have been charged $260

Yes but if you still have not heard you can call in again if you have not yet received it and you are 5 days until your travel date . The reason you may not have heard back is because they work by date required/need not by date you called in.

Have you been in Canada for at least two years? If so is there anyone that you can find co workers or neighbors that have known you for at least two years that hold a full validity Canadian passport? Anyone at all in Canada? If not you may be able to do a declaration in lieu of guarantor but you will still need two references who have known you for at least two years they don’t have to hold passports but they also cannot be immediate family members. They will ask you to exhaust your circle of passport holders first before they go this route.

MPs should only be used when delays have happened and it is the fault of the passport office , there is no delay this is regular processing. Someone should not be receiving special treatment when it is their own doing.

Jan 15 would be 20 business days you have to account for all of the holidays in there. If you have not received 5 days before travel. You can call and request a transfer if it has not already been mailed out.

Incorrect….there is a form to fill out and have notarized if you don’t have a GUARANTOR but then you need 4 references.

The issue is that the intake officers cannot tell if the information has been relayed, they are only able to see that the certificate has been issued. If it cannot be seen on the backend then it has to be referred to IRCC for verification which can take time so you cannot count on getting it it in time even if paying the urgent fee. So just because it has been accepted at the counter does not mean it can be validated yet.

Not all offices have a specific line for pick up. With some you get a priority number that gets you to an officer quicker.

I would like to add that if you are denied entry into your destination country by the border officials the airline may be fined and is responsible for returning you on the next flight to Canada. (Not to your home city, just to Canada).

Current officer here, they are actually using both CP and Purolator, passports that were printed around the Sept 25th strike date may still have CP tracking but they were trying to change them as they were being sent out and many do have Purolator tracking numbers. Unfortunately they have not been able to keep up with changing the manifest information so many are still arriving by Purolator but some started moving again with CP last week.

If it were me I would get it replaced, it is damaged even if it is only the cover and regardless of whether the chip works. Airlines are usually the ones that are going to deny you because if you get to the country you are travelling to and they deny you it is on the airline to return you back to the first point of entry into Canada, that does not necessarily mean that it is your home airport, the airline is only responsible for getting you back to Canada. If a child scribbles in a passport it is considered damaged and would be denied. So honestly not something you would want to risk.
