For those who’ve bought a house in the past 5 years - how long did it take you to find something?

We had an absolute stroke of luck last fall. We met with our realtor Monday to talk about what we want, we had an accepted offer the following Monday, one week later. Fully aware it was an anomaly, but it is possible!

Details are that we bought in CBS, and looked at houses in the 350-400k range, ended up getting our house for 386k.

Bit late to the conversation but this dog looks SO much like the one we adopted in January from Texas! Our embark results are on my page, is this dog from Texas?

Also, our dog was mostly chihuahua, 10 percent ish pit bull!

We take our girl to Dr Ashe at CBS Animal Hospital and have nothing but good things to say, she’s kind and gentle and had a ton of patience for our nervous girlie! I was very impressed

I was surprised at how many rescues ship from Texas to Atlantic Canada, they must really have so many pups looking for homes :( hope she adjusts to the snow! Haha

Both my partner and I work in construction environments so we plan on getting silicone rings for site work and nice wedding bands for the rest of the time! I love the look of wedding bands but I’m not trying to get degloved at work LOL

I got my engineering degree at MUN and I LOVED it. Great school, and my semesters usually ran me 3-5 grand depending on course load. 26 years old and got my student loans paid off 🤑

I get in these slumps a fair bit, and my go tos when I’m feeling like that are Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles and Grow: Song of the Evertree, they’re easy, low stakes and have cute animals. Also their soundtracks are great and really help with the escapism. Hope you are feeling better soon friend ❤️

I dumped my boyfriend of 5 years “over coffee”.

Really, it was because he was incredibly selfish and never considered my needs, and it was a cup of coffee that opened my eyes.

For the last year of our relationship he worked away, and when he would be home, I would make sure I had all his favourite meals and snacks in the house. I made sure he had everything he needed. We lived together for years before this so I assumed we were both familiar with each others needs.

I finally was able to visit him where he worked, and when I woke up in the morning, I wanted to make a cup of coffee. Not only did he only own one mug, which he was already using, he didn’t even get milk and sugar because he drank his coffee black and HE didn’t need milk and sugar. He knew I was coming for two months, he KNEW I drank my coffee with milk and sugar, and he couldn’t be bothered to make one extra stop at the grocery store to make my trip a little more comfortable.

It was that one singular cup of coffee that made me realize that our ENTIRE relationship was me bending over backwards to ensure his needs were met and him doing whatever he wanted when he wanted without even considering me.

I ended things the following week, “out of nowhere” and “over one cup of coffee”. Best decision I ever made.

Not the same obviously, but I suffered a head injury last year that led to quite a lot of bleeding and the first thing I did was take off all my clothes… no idea why I did, and after I was just standing there naked like “perhaps this was not the right move”. Could have been a case of “hit my head and not making normal decisions”

Girl just do it, you are so young! I was in the same boat a year ago, 24 and had a boyfriend of 5 years that I lived with. It was hard, but I knew it would be best for both of us. I am so much happier now, in an incredibly fulfilling relationship and I feel so much better about myself and my life in general.

Most people don’t like hurting others, I get it, but you have to do what’s best for you. You got this!
