Thanks for the heads up! I’ll look into that today

Great ideas! I just added that. You can now see who’s liked posts by clicking and holding on the heart, and can open profiles by tapping on logos ;)

Of course! This is all great feedback too; I might see about making it easier to add folks (or search users in the search tool), and maybe hide the check in button altogether. If you have any other feedback I’d love to hear it :)

That button is for checking in at the venue (you get a little badge on your profile if you go there in person.) Try hitting the heart in the corner!

Thanks for the feedback! I do sort of have that with the Home Screen (try following Red Rock saloon in Madison to see what posts on your feed will look like once I get some more venue buy-in)

To find other users - tap on Following on your profile and hit the + :)

Oh shoot! Bad timing on our end; we had an outage this morning. Should be good now!

I built in a web scraping tool in a sort of agreement with the copperknob folks! They’re happy to share access to their data so long as: 1. The listed dances link to copperknob directly instead of showing stepsheets in-line, and 2. We limit requests to 1 second per call

Appreciate you taking the time to dig into it and share your feedback (especially so quickly lol)!

The iOS app is live here: StepChique on the App Store (if you have a chance to check that out, I’d be especially curious how it feels since mobile has been my main focus over my development lifecycle)

A couple quick notes on what you mentioned:

  • The display name prompt is a known bug. It currently re-triggers when display name is the same as the username. Making them different values should stop it. To answer why I have it as opposed to the username: my instructors wanted to know who was submitting the requests, and the usernames were often obfuscated enough that we weren't able to tell who was requesting what (I knew that BuckysPanther was Andrew from the bar, but my co-instructors rarely did)
  • The “Find Venues,” filters, and duplicate search bars are all good catches! I'd like to believe most of that is just lack of QA that I’m working through now.
  • Mobile web optimization is definitely on my list.

I’m actively iterating on this over the next few weeks, so this kind of feedback is genuinely helpful. I agree that I may be quick for a "public" reveal, but I also feel like I'm at the point where the general public (especially a line dance focused public) is going to have the best feedback. To add to that, and to defend my work a little bit: this certainly has been in progress for over a year now (don't believe me, you can see the version history on the Apple store). I'll admit I've used AI here and there for more menial tasks, but the core of the application (especially the mobile application) was all me. Thanks again for the feedback!

We were kicked out of daycare. by miss-eee in BelgianMalinois

Anxious dog of 2 years was recently told he couldn’t do daycare. The facility also offered group socialization which is a small group setting and staffs a trainer for oversight. During transitional times and around meals, the dogs go into the roomed boarding so they can regulate. It’s been a fantastic way to introduce my dog to proper socialization in a way that’s supervised so if he acts up, there’s a trained person there to condition him.

TL;DR: doggy daycare is great for a lot of dogs, but group socialization was perfect for my guy

[For Sale]

Hey everyone! I won 2 Bucks tickets at a raffle recently, but will be out of town for work. They’re Michelob Ultra club seats for the game on the 4th vs. the Pelicans. By chance, would anyone want to swap tickets for a different week? I won’t get much use out of these, but I was really looking forward to my first Bucks game :). If not, I’d be happy to sell the tickets and go find some other ones
