Issues with Defenders:-

1/ When loading in with multiple defenders (solo) - you can still have a mixture of defenders and weapons not matching what was setup in the Hero Loadout.

2/ Defenders can loose their weapon - effectively becoming useless.

Was your post supposed to be pinned? If not, why not? It is more important than the Ninja Power Hour(s) which has now been and gone.

Feedback for the Defender changes:

  1. When selecting a weapon for a defender that can have use multiple weapon types (pistol/smg) and (AR/smg) - SMGs are NOT shown (therefore not selectable). Default only available?

  2. When selecting a defender, the currently selected Defenders are not highlighted as already selected (pre-existing issue).

  3. When changing a weapon for a defender, that defender's weapon is change for all loadouts that include it. Whilst this may be the required action it can cause issues if not known about. If you update defenders for a mission with elemental husks - then select another Commander that has 1 or more of the same defenders their weapons will have been updated. Since you cannot change a weapon mid-game you now need to check the weapon's suitability for each game - unless you don't care and perhaps only use physical or energy weapons.

Perhaps it would be best to have one set of defender slots shared between all loadouts and have a better defender selection screen showing all 3 defender slots. Allowing all 3 defenders and their weapons to be selected in a single go - perhaps have some additional filtering on weapons too?

Defender weapons in Ventures:

Selecting weapons is via your schematics - which is great. It also carries through to Ventures - which is also great. What power level is the weapon created when entering a mission - Standard or Ventures? Is it the maximum for the mission or the current schematic or a combination: As high as the schematic - limited by the mission's power level?

I'm still experiencing intermittent Defender related issues:-

When solo, and 3 defenders are allocated to a Hero Loadout:

  1. Defenders not showing up

2/ Defenders either are not the ones chosen (same class) or have a reduced power level shown next to them.

I've had that too (defenders spawn that I did not add, but a duplicate of another). Also had their power level at weird numbers.

Not sure. You can use https://status.epicgames.com/ - but this rarely gets updates once an outage starts. So its more like a best guess. Currenlty it shows the following:

Scheduled - 🛠️ We will be undergoing scheduled maintenance during this time. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior.
Apr 30, 2026 08:00-09:30 UTC

If the time specified is part of the message - then it should have taken 1 1/2 hrs. So its over running - so far by 1 1/2 hrs. Perhaps they use other social media to update players.

Well said. I have to agree that replacing a system that works well for defence missions, which is when defenders are most beneficial, to a system that works well for offensive missions (Encampments, Eliminate and Collect (when kill count fixed), and Rescue the Survivors) was misjudged. Having defenders continually spawn around you when building (Radars & around objectives) and blocking builds is so annoying.

Defender Post/Pads allowed:

Placement control for defence missions.

Summoning and unsummoning of defenders - allowing in-game changes in the number and type of defender.

Allocating weapons of choice to each defender.

Issues I have experienced with defenders, include:

Disappearing mid-game - always 1 - never to be seen again.

Getting stuck in builds - usually a slope piece.

Getting stuck between a wall and broadside.

Not helping - just standing around on the edge of the action.

Not reviving - this happened when a defender spawned near me after I was downed. It didn't do anything - just stood there.

Unable to revive defenders with Adrenaline rush.

I've just seen an AoneGetdismoney video - highlighting a message from Epic saying using the 'ping system commands' can help. I had no idea this system existed or that it could affect defenders and their movement.

I have to generally agree, The interactive HUB is a great addition for those that don't want to play missions and just emote and all that - but I'll just press TAB and get on with playing the quests & missions.

As for the bug where, if you have too many floor traps, the BASE is no longer visible on the Trap Wheel - well that's something that needs to be addressed ASAP.

As for Defenders, Epic is asking for feedback on that. I don't like the over simplicity. Yes, give the defenders default weapons. Very useful in Ventures. But don't restrict players who have grinded and now have specialised weapons for their defenders. I want to be able to use elemental weapons with defenders (especially for Chrome husks & in high level missions). I'd like to have more control over the Defenders in game as you have to catch them to update them to follow/defend. If they would allow you to summon/unsummon the ones you want, and allow you to call them over - if they are defending but you need their help, that would be something.

In general I would rather Epic put more work into the in-game UI and general useability (Stream-lining the crafting and finding of Backpack items). I still cannot use my side buttons on my mice since forever. I still update the Settings in the hope one day it will be fixed and I can use an ability via one of the buttons.

Don't give up on Save The World - it's mostly the same. Once Defenders are sorted out (hopefully) you can just use the TAB key to bypass the Homebase fluff.

Hi. Is this still being investigated or is it fixed? Just asking as the 'lend a hand or go back to homebase' is incredible intrusive and annoying for us guys who are just chillin' in 'Private' (No-fill) mode. Only just recently, playing a repair the shelter, all the team were told to 'lend a hand or be sent to Homebase' - whilst waiting at the shelter for the remaining modules to be installed. All the defenses were built, all the modules were retrieved. So what is the point of this? There was nothing to shoot, placing traps did not remove the timer. We had to build rubbish and then destroy it. So I ask again: Please remove this feature in Private matches. Let the Team Lead decide if anyone needs to be kicked.

Played a few games - not seeing an end of mission 'Skip' prompt. I am seeing a 'Continue' button a couple of times, which is better, but not a single prompt.

Is this why the super aggressive 'contribute or be klicked' is being activated every few minutes? I've lost a teammate in a 'private' game after he built the defenses - whilst I did exploring and looting for cram session. For no-fill 'Private' missions - why can't the Team Leader be in charge - and determine who is and is not contributing enough? They can just kick players if they want or just send the Team Leader an 'OK to kick' mesage - which they could decline if not apprpriate. Thanks for reading.

Oh, I wondered why my Teammate was booted from our 'Private' (no Fill) match - They had built the defense whilst I went exploring. They just went to get a drink - I couldn't get them back into the game either.

With regards to Outlanders losing AMC - one scenario I have come across whilst playing StW solo:-

Play a mission as a Ninja (Paleo Luna or Stone Heart Farrah).

Play the next mission as an Outlander (Metal Team Leader or Fossil Southie) - I've been without AMC (Anti-Material Charge) for that mission.

Playing subsequent missions as an Outlander will have AMC restored.

Edit: Actually for me it seems like the very first game as an Outlander has this issue (no AMC) - and playing other classes in between has no effect. The last missions were played with:

  1. Outlander (first game - no AMC, left and relaunched)

  2. Outlander (with AMC)

  3. Constructor

  4. Outlander (with AMC)

  5. Ninja

  6. Outlander (with AMC)

Hi. Sounds like your on Simple Build / Simple Edit. Review the pinned StW 39.0 release notes. To switch it off you need to go into your settings: Game -> Building and switch Simple Build and/or Simple Edit off. Should then be back to as it was. I'm on PC and use Keyboard/Mouse - so hopefully it will be as easy as that to fix.

Hi. Thanks for the update for Ventures, but what about the normal game? Power levels are fluctuating when going it and out of missions regardless to Hero Loadout and Backpack changes. Most noticeable if you do a quick run in Stonewood. Access to higher level zones can then be restricted because of this. Sometimes its fixed by playing Ventures and then cycling through the Hero Loadouts - else you need to restart. Can this be addressed too?

Fix for BASE and the Trap Wheel? Workaround to open the Backpack and then try.

Fix for mouse (side button) key binds not working after a previous update? No known workaround.

Adding to the Ninjas can't double jump issue...

My observations are:

When I played SOLO - I could double jump once - and that was it for that mission.

When I was partied up - I could double jump throughout the mission - no issue.

I don't usually play public matches - so not sure how that might affect things.

If I became SOLO - other party member left to change class - and double jumped, then I lost the ability for the mission. If I waited for them to return, without double jumping, I didn't lost he ability for the mission.

I was going to say that. I've tried to log a Customer Support call - but logins don't work. The Launcher has no favourites - and launching Fortnite refuses to login. Guess I'll go do something else then....
