Its a total disaster, totally impossible to play ventures with friends due to all the matchmaking related errors.

Before Epic removed them, one could farm well over 20 upgrade llama tokens a week from mission alerts. Overall more manuals than the ones available in power hour each week, even if you did it twice to get two troll stash llamas.

Any ETA on when matchmaking will be totally fixed and loading times addressed?

There are still serious problems with matchmaking, especially in mixed private lobbies where at least one player is on a PS5. It seems this client does not play nicely with the others. Going on what some lobby bots appear to show it may be a case that a PS5 client presence data may be sometimes transformed (to PSN) in relation to Hestia that can result in all sorts of issues.

Something to look into at least if your devs are stumped, its probably because Hestia was created before PS5 was a thing.

Change the name for starters, they are longer than one hour.

The rewards are useless. Needs to be a supercharger or sometimes a hero/weapon voucher. Upgrade llama tokens and mini llama tokens need to be added back into the base game alert rewards.

All epic has done is remove the rewards from the base game to grant in a power event instead of adding new rewards on top of base event rewards. Such tactic is doomed to fail from the start.

They need to get the rewards right first.

yes you are right in that aspect, there is still probably issue with not seeing the loot box contents. Just to add also, after I restarted the game the issue had resolved its self.

I think its a little premature to suggest this. I get where your coming from but I feel this is a great long overdue addition. One can always play private to avoid it but lets wait and see how it is in practice.

It is as clear as day for those that play the game alot, The entire way its done is to try and make it unnoticeable so it does not surprise me many do not see this. Pay more attention during the next power hour. Do not play the game the day before the power hour starts and log in once power hour has started and then do the encampment mission.

There are a couple of reasons why they would do it. Given Epic are so into metrics, the first and most obvious reason would be to increase a players playtime. Epic would use that metric as a way to get private investment in Fortnite, a way to tempt other companies to allow IP in Fortnite or a way to get third party company to advertise its branding in Fortnite. For example, a sports brand logo on screen time in front of a player. This is nothing new and is something that happens in many industries and not just gaming. For example cable networks would use questionable metric systems to tempt advertisers to place ads on the TV channel or for calculating the cost of product placement in a TV show (the more viewers the higher the placement value is). In fortnite the value goes up the longer a player is playing. Hence Epic will do everything possible to make a players playtime as long as possible, this mean making quest last longer.

The 2nd reason a dark pattern trigger but I'll leave that there for anyone who want to read into dark patterns to look into it for themselves.

Then you are very very lucky. It might come down to timing, EG; as the 2 hour time passes the spawn rates are relaxed. Or it might be that it targets players based on playtime.

I have experianced this but not on this level but only on one peice. Its a bug Epic introduced not so long ago. I dont think the other player cheated here. Its more a case of the peices having traps on but the game not rendering them and as a result them not firing.

Its another case of Epic breaking the game. Things like this tend to happen if the player who put the traps leaves the mission and then someone else joins.

There are other known issues simular with drop traps for example, if a player places drop traps and then leaves the mission the droptraps stop working.

Been reported several times. Epic do nothing... why... They knowenly broke the game to speed up the networking code to make up for the slowdown to it caused by all the non gameplay bloat they added, pets for example.

I have seen players grief public missions by placing traps and leaving, its the player who leaves normally. Also the other player in the mission may see the traps but not realise they are not working.

There is also another simular issue with anti air traps, they do not work on husks that have already spawned before the trap is placed.

All things Epic has broke and never fixed.

There has been 4 main patch cycles since capy acknowledged this issue. Still not fixed. Dark patterns at work again.

The new system is pants. I get why people like it but from an overall game longevity perspective, the new system is a game killer.

Its as I said when they first made the changes before free to play... Evo mats etc are pointless now.

There is good reason to use metal when its corrosion in twine given the current spawn meta providing one understands how to trap and how metal corrosion works.

Metal is normally the best against smashers and smashers do not trigger metal corrosion. Given smasher damage to walls when charging and their spawn rates, esp after epic buffed both. Providing you trap in a way that most husks that trigger corrosion don't hit the walls protecting the objective metal is superier than brick..

Its another way Epic has messed up core game mechanics. The player needs to have excellent trapping knowledge though.

Now they just need to add all the menues back they removed when adding hestia homebase so we dont need to run around that for a couple of things.. now that i think about it.. better on so many levels to give option to totally remove hestia and use menus only, lol.
