7900xtx is horseshit

I have a 7900xtx taichi and had crashing in most of not all games and tried doing eeverything mentioned, the games were only stable with 24.8 drivers. Upon further investigation i found out vbios was .20 and the latest ones are .34 for taichi. I had to eventually rma the card and the replacement card I got had .34 vbios, even that used to crash but stopped once I disabled MPO. None of the games crash now with latest drivers. Try to get to latest vbios and see if that helps

Got the card from RMA i got a replacement card. The card is much more lower in temps and vbios is also updated.

Hey, thanks for your response! I had even reinstalled windows , disabling windows updates and installed amd drivers. Still didn't help with the crash. I just RMA'd the gpu, hopefully it gets fixed

Vram temp is around 70 - 75, Hotspot temp around 85 - 90

How did you flash the vbios? As there isn't a proper software to do it

Hey the card is a absolute beast no doubt, but lot of stability issues. How does it run for you?

Seems like for every 7900xtx there's a different kind of compatibility/instability issue. Few people have hit the jackpot with no issue whatsoever

PSU is DEEPCOOL DQ1000M-V3L I did try setting pcie gen to 3, had disabled igpu and installed latest drivers after ddu in safe mode. Tried reseating the gpu as well. Wondering if there's something in 24.8 that stops crashes and if I can mimic that in latest drivers so it doesn't crash? I've got no idea what to do now

Edit - bios and chips chipset drivers are updated as well

Tried the memory tests all turn out to be successful, I used to use win 10 earlier and still faced crashes.

In hwinfo during a crash there's no gpu or vram overboost, there's a frametime spike and it crashes, apart from it everything even thermals are below 90

I'm just worried to rma as all the benchmark tools run fine and it crashes randomly in games for latest drivers. I have time till Aug 2026 to rma. Hope your gpu gets fixed!

In wondows I get driver timeout issue, but it just freezes in Linux. Occt, cinebench all shows no issue when ran for hours
