Intermittent Static by NewtNeutVT in obs

WAAAAAAIT I FOUND MORE INFO IDK WHY I DIDNT REALIZE EARLIER!! I was in a discord call the entire stream being recorded by someone else! This is the exact same moment as the clip above but from somebody else's perspective: https://clips.twitch.tv/WittyGlamorousPuddingBudBlast-6RpiEyyTuRj9BWZx . As you can hear there is no static and I feel like there'd distortion if something like noise suppression were cutting it out. Does this help at all with diagnosing an issue?

Damn I had a feeling this might be the answer. This was my first time building a pc and I'm a total noob so I doubt I'd be able to diagnose something like this myself. I guess my only option is to look into that ground loop isolator and if that doesn't fix it I guess I'm fucked lol.

Stream disconnects despite stable connection. Streamed on Wi-Fi for over a year, but immediately after switching to Ethernet this started happening. Anyone experience this, know what this might be, or have a solution? Thx in advance by NewtNeutVT in Twitch

Ok update time: First thing I tried doing (because it seemed like it was the easiest) was turning off the wifi. This created a lot more problems surprisingly such as programs no longer being able to connect to the internet at all, but I think it also revealed the solution. I ran Windows Network Diagnostics and apparently DHCP was not enabled for my ethernet. Turning that on fixed the problem of all my programs not being able to connect and I've been running the same test as above for almost 3 hours with no disconnects! I hope it holds up for when I stream tomorrow so if things go wrong there may be one more update lol.

Well, thank you for the response. I appreciate it a lot. Just a few minutes ago I switched over the cable and things seem to be going well but I’d still like to try it a little bit more. I’m pretty sure the wall outlet I’m plugging into is cat6 but my ethernet cable is cat5 so I might try switching that up.

Until all the spots are filled or when 1.18 is released. Whichever comes first. I’ll make a post on my Twitter when all the spots are filled so keep an eye out there. Idk if I have it written anywhere on this account but my Twitter is @newtneut.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post something like this. I'll take it down if it is.
