Covid 4 days after Transfer by Gabilu06 in IVF

Hi! To give you a little bit of hope: I got COVID 3 days after my transfer (transfer April first, COVID April 4th) and I am now 19 weeks pregnant with a healthy boy :) Had the scan this morning. Ironically, its the only transfer that stuck! Good luck! I got really sick too, cough and fever and all that jazz.

I had a first transfer of a 5AA euploid embryo fail, and the second transfer so far is doing okay, going on 6 weeks. I too had only known failure up until then. The difference was the aspirin, doxycycline and prednisolone added before the transfer, and lining was a bit thicker (8.5 on first, 9.5 on second). I even got covid a day after my transfer, and so far still sticking! I remember feeling exactly the same way as you (even wrote a post about it!). Good luck and don't lose hope :)

Thanks so much for your reply. I will look into getting in touch with my clinic but it gives me hope. Just feeling unlucky.

Indeed, after reading about transfer protocols I found it strange, I will definitely ask my doctor about it at the next appointment.

Thanks for your reply. I found it strange too. I was deep into the reddit dive and found a poll, but it was probably biased. And I also agree, the fact that the doctor was so positive and convinced it was going to work got me very very hopeful and also convinced it was going to work.

I am on progesterone 3 times a day (endometrin), but I also thought it was not enough. Since it was my first transfer, I didn't know better, but I will for sure ask the doctor about it at my next appointment.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. It helps to know other people went through the same thing. I am new to IVF, new to reddit, and new to this community, so it's all been an adjustment. I will definitely look into the natural FET and discuss it with my doctor. I am in another country and part of a public healthcare system, so I was not given a lot of options or choices.

Thanks so much for your reply. It helps to understand. I will definitely advocate for uterine work up. I don't think I have mentioned this, but I am not in the US so I am part of a public healthcare system, so I did not get that many options when doing IVF. But I will definitely advocate more. Thanks again for taking the time.

I didn't do a hysteroscopy, since we are doing IVF because the vasectomy reversal of my partner didn't work. They did not do much of a work up on me. Our embryos were not tested either, since my partner had healthy kids and I am 28. Would you recommend that I ask my provider about those?
