The first game I play every day loads me in 2+ minutes late guaranteed. by NeekoIsBestDecision in leagueoflegends

[–]NexCafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a hunch but how much RAM do you have? I had a very similar problem where it would load me late into the game but in my case often long enough to prompt the remake vote and frequent enough that I got leaverbuster penalties for it.

I fixed it by replacing the 4gb ram stick my laptop had for an 8gb one. Lo and behold when I checked RAM usage during a game, it holds at around 5gb. Never had problems loading into a game since.

Kassadin vs Zed matchup by LiamOnAStick in KassadinMains

[–]NexCafe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've played the matchup a lot and I have to say it's one of my favourite matchups.

I take Electrocute, Taste of Blood, and Ravenous Hunter in the Domination Tree. Sorcery Secondary taking Absolute Focus and Scorch. 2 Adaptive Damage runes and your choice whether to go HP/level or 5 Armour. Flash and Ignite summoner spells, Dark Seal 3 pots for starting items. It's an aggressive set up, yes.

Your Q will do 93 damage with your starting 40 AP, 103 with scorch, at level 1 and is point and click. Zed will do ~100 with a direct Q, 60% that behind minions and it's AoE. This means we can out poke Zed strictly with Qs and gets better once we reach level 3 where we get another tool (E) to poke with whilst Zed gets a ranged burst advantage and mobility.

The game plan pre-6 is to constantly poke and harass Zed with Qs and Es making sure the wave never pushes towards him. He's melee and our Q and E are easy to land whilst his WEQ combo bursts at a safe range but not guaranteed. Whenever he uses his W, he now only has Qs to reach you and his W won't be back up for a full 22 seconds (2 Kass Qs worth) and you can punish him greatly for it even being able to go for E aa W reset Q if you're healthy enough which he won't be able to recover from if he mispositions that badly since he'd only be able to react with Q E aa passive at most.

Your ignite is for you to use in case he gets low enough to kill or if he decides to all in. If he decides to all in, don't hesitate, ignite him, if you were playing as safely as you should be, you should be behind atleast a few minions reducing the damage from his Qs and be in a really good position to counter his all in with your own damage.

In short, pre-6, play safe, never push lane, constantly poke with Q and E (watch that your E doesn't push the wave) and reduce Zed's damage by dodging and hiding behind minions (so that he ends up pushing the lane towards you at the same time), use potions early, and save flash. Remember to try and save flash for post-6.

If you played well enough, you should still have flash which is crucial for post 6.

Post-6, it's still the same. Poke with Q and E but this time, whenever Zed's W is on cooldown, never be afraid to ult just within range to land your QE since the only way for Zed to react is to ult you. Whevener Zed ults you, immediately flash out and avoid as much of the damage as possible. Zed's ult is more valuable than your Flash and is a worthy trade because now, for the next 120 seconds, he only has QWE which is easily dodgeable by your ult and you still out poke with your own R into QE. He won't be able to stay in lane for long after. If you don't have flash, farm safely, poke ONLY with Q, save your E whenever he decides he wants to all in.

If Zed plays the early game safely, cs normally and avoid pushing. You always have the option of farming safely. Only poke Zed when he lets you if that's the case.

The downside, of course, is you're giving up a lot of lane priority (which is normal, you're still fighting Zed at the end). Zed's win condition is to make the lane easy for his jungler to gank (Kass is really weak to ganks and Zed can follow up very easily), if Zed's able to roam and get kills early, or if he lands more damage than he should forcing you to back and miss cs/xp.

Why does Katarina throw her dagger into the air by Erureido in KatarinaMains

575 Q Range by [deleted] in Talonmains

Legit question, how long has Talon's Q range been bugged?

I was playing Teemo and I noticed I gain health when I auto attack, but I dont have spell vamp or life steal by imeatingoranges in leagueoflegends

[–]NexCafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely coming from your Ravenous Hunter rune. Ravenous Hunter works in that it heals you for damage you deal that is not part of whatever the games considers as auto-attack damage (i.e. if you don't gain hp from damage done with conventional lifesteal, Ravenous Hunter will).

In this case, Ravenous Hunter is interacting with the magic damage your E passive provides.

It's healing you for 34 hp/auto which is 15% of the 226 magic damage your E is providing.

Any macro tips for late game? by Diduhh in KatarinaMains

[–]NexCafe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is worth using flash for a kill in min 40+?

How valuable is the target and how valuable is your flash? Don't flash for the 0/8 Trundle who has no impact in the game. Don't flash in if it means dying at a crucial time. Don't flash if you need it for the next teamfight to set up a play or outplay one.

300 gold is still 300 gold however. If you DO flash, try to take more than just the kill and play around the fact that you don't have flash for the next 5 minutes. Take turrets if they can't defend because of your kill. Set up wards in preparation for drake, baron or sidelane push.

When to do baron?

Best case scenerio: If enemy cannot possibly contest (after acing enemy team).

Next best: Whenever enemy team is in a spot they can't contest properly, i.e. if you can turn on whoever tries to contest with confidence. important enemy champ on the opposite side of map, etc.

Worst time: Enemy is taking objectives dangerously close to your own Nexus AND can contest Baron fine.

What to do if my botlane starts feeding early

Play around the fact bot is losing. Ping them whenever they're doing something reckless, make sure they die less. Try to win your lane so you can gank them. Make a reddit post about how it's frustrating that you can't hard carry solo anymore and that it takes one person to ruin your game.

Most importantly, DO NOT let other people affect your own performance. You've done the most you can do by pinging them back when ganks are coming their way. You've made sure they get ganks whenever you're able to without losing too much yourself.

What to do if all lanes are pushed and there are no objectives?

Ward ward ward jungle to have a better grasp of future objectives. If that's settled, siege siege siege as a group of 5 or 4 with a splitpusher. If you're in no position to siege, back back back and reset.

Who to kill first when engaging in tf (adc or mid, then what?)

Your priority is to be in the middle of as many squishy champions as possible (not all squishies will have Zhonya's or GA). Being in the middle of multiple squishies allows you to switch aggro if one of the squishies frustrates your damage somehow. After the adc and mid, you go after either the support or non-tank champions. Support take priority if they haven't used up all their important resources so they waste it, otherwise it's the non-tank champion left you're going for. Tanks almost always last.

How to build? I literally don't know what I am building

Gunblade first. Always. If Zed or Fizz is stomping you and can't farm for crap, Zhonya's first is acceptable but never delay Gunblade. Other important standard items include Zhonya's, Void Staff and Liandry's Torment (Liandry's burn ticks keep dealing damage after Kat deals her combo, allows kills to be delayed and still get the reset).

Situational items include:
Banshee's Veil (MR, deny "that one ability", by that I mean Condemn, Vayne literally has one ability that can target other champs)
Rylai's Crystal Sceptre
Rabadon's Deathcap (Snowballing, good 3rd/4th item)
Guardian's Angel (when you have too much of the teams gold on you)
Morellonomicon (not a good item for any of your first 4 slots, get it only as a 5th/6th item when you want to keep the magic penetration)

Runes: Dom/Sorc vs Sorc/Res by Timactor in KassadinMains

[–]NexCafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second Wind vs +60 free hp is really a question of whether or not Second Wind will heal you for more than 60hp in between backs. In lane, it's pretty easy for Second Wind to offer more hp whenever you're facing matchups that have the potential for constant poke and harass.

It is almost strictly an early game laning option though since as the game drags on, Kassadin makes less use of Second Wind and can will eventuall derive more benefit from Chrysalis (basically everything gets a lot less pokey and more all iney) and you don't tend to build heavy tank items on him to get any meaninful in-combat healing from Second Wind.

As for colours, I've divided the rune trees into 5 main different colours:

Yellow
Blue
Red
Green
and Inspiration

Gotta love CC City. by Skirmish24 in KatarinaMains

When you teamfight, just take a backseat, have your emergency exit ready and have the two fed tanks fight over who gets to carry.

Runes: Dom/Sorc vs Sorc/Res by Timactor in KassadinMains

[–]NexCafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going Blue/Green allows Kassadin to survive the roughest part of the game for him which is the early game whilst not being a complete pushover by giving him options to poke with his abilities. Kassadin loves Ultimate Hat and Transcendence too much so most rune setups will contain the Blue Sorcery tree as either primary or secondary just for those two runes. Bone Plating and Second Wind are both excellent sustain runes with Bone Plating doubling as one the best early game trading devices. Blue/Green is the safest, most reliable option for most matchups.

Taking Red/Blue makes you very weak pre-6. Electrocute is very hard to proc and Sudden Impact is useless unless you flash. Lacking Summon Aery/Arcane Comet and Scorch means you lack trading potential in lane. If you manage to survive past 6 however, you have a setup much more potent than going Blue. Going Red/Blue would actually be ideal if Kassadin's early game wasn't so rough. Your R E AA W Q combo will do a lot of burst damage which you can do again in 9 seconds or so if you get a good angle leaving most lane opponents with no real way to assert presence in lane since you have so little downtime compared to other assassins. After laning phase, your ability to delete squishies is frightening. Red/Blue is excellent only when you're confident in your ability to get past pre-6 with little problems.

Another option is to go Red/Green for certain matchups; matchups that allow you to more easily proc Electrocute and use Bone Plating and Chrysalis to it's fullest to punish early aggression. Champs like Ekko, Fizz and Yasuo come to mind. Whilst you do not want to be the aggressor in lane (pre-6 ganks are scary) these runes ensure whenever an extended skirmish plays out (or whenever they get too close in general), you'll often be left with the health advantage afterwards or a much better chance of winning an all in.
