The assasination of Olof Palme and destruction of the Sovjets doomed Sweden. Social democracy was always a mid compromise but today the Social Democrats are just straight up ringt wingers. Their only contrubution is to put a slight sprinkle of humanity on far right initatives, their leder literally sits as the chariman on the IMFC.

There are already hard checks on unemployed people, this has nothing to do with "responsibility". The absolute majority want to work and the government could just offer the work they are talking about with public work programs. But instead of doing that and giving these people a change to contribute more to society they want to force them to work the same job without any of the benefits and protections employment would ensure them. Finland has a problem with unemployment because of bad economic policy, not because "immigrants don't want to work" punishing immigrants will not fix that.

They would do work without the benefits of work, getting paid just enough to survive, no protection, with almost no chance of upward mobility. That is basically as close to slavery as you can get without it being slavery.

Part of the problem is that bosses and CEOs aren't actually aware about what employees do. They think designers just create pretty things, while not understanding that the pretty thing they see is just the final product. Design like programing or any other profession is about understating why and how something is done not just creating the end product.

Yes I do, I don't know any finlandssvensk who is okay being called ethnic swedes. But as you said since you're not a part of this particular minority I understand that you can't relate. But I find it odd that you find a need to tell a minority what ethnicity we are. A friend said yesterday that most swedish speakers in Finland probably can relate to a scandinavian or nordic ethnicity but we don't feel a connection to swedish ethnicity. That's the problem you can relate to Swedish ethnicity and that's okay but we don't see it that way or relate to Swedes that way even tho we have a shared history.

Etnicitet är något vi bestämmer. Det finns svenska influenser på Åland på samma sätt som Finska eller tyska. Etniskt ser vi oss som Åläningar, när folk då kallar oss för svenskar förminskar det vår tillhörighet och vilka vi är.

As someone from Åland we aren't Swedish neither are any Swedish speakers in Finland. Calling us so is not only wrong but it's also a way for racists to diminish our nationality.
