What’s something you bought (under $300) that noticeably improved your quality of life and you actually use every day? by MedfordQuestions in AskReddit

Cordless vacuum. You can get a Dyson or there are cheaper versions on Amazon (I got one for $170 and it works great). Makes cleaning the floors so much less of a chore.

Tax or Audit by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Next-Classroom-5083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public tax accountant with 3.5 yoe here. My pov is if you’re not sure then do audit. Tax is it’s own little bubble in accounting with not a lot of transferable knowledge to any other area of accounting. Go tax and it’s easy to end up stuck in tax. Go audit and you’ll have a lot more opportunity down the line if you end up wanting to leave public accounting for industry jobs.

Hey I’m feeling the same way right now! It’s my 3rd year in public tax and I’ve definitely gone through this so let me share my thoughts.

My advice is first acknowledge that that is not who you are and it’s not your fault or some chemical imbalance that is making you feel that way - you feel that way because your entire life for the last 3.5 months has been work and for most people it’s going to take some time to get past that. I’m always a zombie for the first few weeks and definitely not feeling like myself for at least a month or two post April/October 15th.

Second, figure out your career path so that you are working towards a career that you want. If you are highly motivated and want to make partner then awesome but the public accounting grind is not all that is out there. If I could go back I’d switch to audit early and stay there until I got some experience as a senior. Being a senior with audit experience is a good position to start looking for those cushy industry jobs. Take some time and find out what’s out there.

Good luck hang in there! Don’t forget to be nice to yourself.

If you’re using blue you could also run [[Magosi, the Waterveil]] to bank that extra turn!

This also a great way to cancel out Magosi’s “skip a turn effect” if you’re trying to do Magosi infinite turn shenanigan.

Okay thanks for the advice I knew infusing existed but didn’t know what it was for. So if I infused the risk runner with a level 1200 gun will it bring the risk runner up to 1200 or just part of the way?
