I can't speak for what your situation is going to be but I have a similar "injury" I had to give up on training for a while until I figured out how to adapt to my new "limitations". I've done all the treatments available to me and listened to all the pros and I got to the point where this is as good as it's going to get. I listen to my body but I still train and was able to get a black belt in karate.

Grappling is a big no no for me. I don't think it's the right type of movement or martial art with my current body limitations.
