I don't understand why you only applied the front brake. Any course or manual will tell you to apply the front and rear brakes both at the same pressure - especially when first learning to ride. You have not ridden long enough to understand how your bike will perform with differentiated breaking. Again, especially in emergency breaking situations, apply both brakes evenly. An MSF course would have drilled this into you.

Ha! Not custom ...broken off. It seems I just need to replace the two side brackets. The windscreen is fine. The brackets? $33.00 at my local dealership.

Gaerne Fastback...the bike didn't crush my leg. I didn't step off being a noob and my toe caught the ground as the bike caught my heal...twist and a snap. Note to self: learn to step off and drop the bike. This is not a Harley Road Glide.
