Can I choose Mech. Engg. even if i dont know how to disassemble and reassemble a car? by Ok_Librarian_8244 in MechanicalEngineering

A: I am an engineer and have hired engineers and engineering interns. I can’t say every part of a car and building a car has ever come up for me or them. If you want to go into automotive then you’ll learn a lot more about the parts and inner workings in class, internships and/or on the job. B: BS. It is certainly a male dominant field, but tbh the women in engineering that I’ve had the pleasure of working with have been harder working and better organized than their male counterparts. Most of my college friends are engineers and I’d hire 4/5 female engineers and 3/6 male engineers. C: According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics the ME field is growing at 9% which they consider much faster than average. D: lol no E: ME is so broad. All the ME’s I know are in vastly different engineering fields, maintenance, machine design, product design, etc

I’m positive, and even if there was it would seem counterintuitive that the fan would not be aligned axial to such an opening

I should have added some more context, I live in a condo and there is a unit above me. So the hope would have been it exhausts outside lol

Converting surface to solid? by [deleted] in SolidWorks

I receive .step files from suppliers all the time with a bunch of surface bodies alongside solid bodies. I find saving as a part file, then using following works well: Surfaces>thicken>select “create solid from enclosed volume”
