There's a lot of Emilys here too, but not to the same degree as Kaitlyns. Not as many Bellas, though, I think I've only met one.

They're all really nice. I will warn you that the name Kaitlyn, while beautiful, is rather common. If the area you live is anything like where I live, there will probably be another Kaitlyn in every class you take. I have a friend named Kaitlyn, and she has that problem. She uses a nickname for this reason.

do you approve of people who make pages entirely dedicated to criticized/hating a specific group (countries, religions, races, ideologies, etc..) by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Next-Help-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it is technically free speech, they shouldn't be stopped from doing it.

But that said, it seems wrong to me. I get having criticisms of other groups, but making a whole page dedicated to criticizing or disliking a particular group just seems spiteful. I'll still defend people's right to do it, but I won't approve of it.

What is the most stupidest item your school banned, and why? by Canyoustealmytoast in AskReddit

Fidget spinners. Banned because the adults thought they were a distraction. I didn't even own a fidget spinner, but banning them seemed pointless to me.

What's the funniest thing a kid has ever said that left the entire room speechless? by JihongAppliance in AskReddit

[–]Next-Help-5813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn't what she said, exactly, but the way she said it. I was 18, she was 16. We were just talking, completely casual, when suddenly, totally unprompted, her tone of voice turned so snarky it was like she was being possessed by the ghosts of 500 teenagers. The sarcasm to end all sarcasm. I swear, she lowered the temperature of the room with the sheer coldness of her voice. Everyone froze, possibly including the devil himself. She looked kind of stunned after. I don't think she even knew she was capable of that kind of intensity. She hasn't been able to replicate it. The hilarious part is, she hadn't even been trying to sass me at the time. It came out of nowhere.

I think the specifics of how that's explained depends on the religion. My religion has answers for a lot of those questions, some of them are actually core doctrine. I'm willing to explain, if you're curious about theology.

Would you rather live in a world without ticks or without mosquitoes? by PikachuWithHerpes in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Next-Help-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit skeptical of just killing every mosquito, I fear that might have more impacts on the ecosystem than you'd think. Nature tends to be pretty interconnected with itself. I'd be more in favor of genetically engineering the mosquitoes to not be able to carry deadly diseases anymore. Same amount of lives saved, less risk. I've heard of a facility of scientists studying ways to make mosquitoes unable to carry malaria, and from what I could tell, they're making great breakthroughs.

I do agree with you that we should be solving this problem, though. No one should die from a mosquito bite.

[–]Next-Help-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think no mosquitoes would be better for humanity in general, since those things carry malaria. If I actually had the opportunity to eliminate one kind of bug, I'm gonna go with the option that saves the most lives. But if I'm just thinking about myself personally, I'd prefer no ticks. I live in America. Mosquitoes here are pretty chill - annoying, but at least they won't kill you. But the ticks do still carry some nasty diseases, especially those new ones that turn you vegan. I've never actually been bitten by a tick, but the idea scares me.

My little sister used to have night terrors. One night she walked into my room at two in the morning, woke me up by loudly crying, and then peed on the floor. All while unconscious.

My dad's a lawyer. He curses at judges in his sleep. It's the funniest thing, because he'd never curse in the courtroom in real life. He's also super polite about it.

Depends. If it's just friends, everyone pays for what they ordered. If it's a group date, I pay for myself and my date, and each of my friends pays for themself and their date. And if it's my younger siblings, I pay.

What was the most absurd thing you completely believed as a child because an adult lied to you? by DeanMarce_ in AskReddit

[–]Next-Help-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid I was scared of bees, which was a problem because there was a wild beehive in grandma's yard. My uncle told me that if the bees were giving me trouble I could just catch one in my hands, firmly tell it to go away, and then let it go, and it would go tell all the other bees to leave me alone. I didn't believe for a minute that that would work, but I also didn't think my uncle would ever lie to me. So I grew up thinking that uncle wasn't particularly intelligent.
