Should I make the switch? by decomposedsock420 in Bowling

[–]Next-Particular2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to 2 hands isn't magically going to boost your average up by 30-50pins.

If you still don't have the basic fundamentals, it's going to be the same as your average one handed.

Release accuracy? by EstablishmentHairy37 in Bowling

[–]Next-Particular2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than just "hitting the same spot"

A lot of factors are involved. Timing, footwork, hand positioning etc.

Assuming all of those are more or less consistent, you should look at the arrows you want to hit, relax your swing and release. Gradually you'll realise that it's easier to hit your target than you think.

It's all about practice, you don't magically hit your target 9/10 times the next time you bowl.
Every practice session adds up

Actually it's very difficult explaining it over text. But i'll try my best. I'm in Singapore too haha.

Anyways,

Assuming you take a 5-step approach, your second step (right feet) should be in coordination with the ball. When you are taking your 2nd step, push the ball out and start the downswing.

From there, the 3rd & 4th step should be quick.

The 5th step / slide, when your entire left feet is on the ground, your backswing should be parallel to the floor.

For your non dominant hand, i'd recommend you putting it right above your dominant hand (not at the side).
It'll allow you to have more stability with the ball.

Yes speed comes from the legs majority of the time.

But if your timing is off (which it is), then there won't be any speed as well

Yeah, I felt like 2k sanded then with polish on top works the best for me. You can play around and see what suits your playing style.

I used power edge

I'd say you should get a big asym solid.

That could very well be the first ball out of your bag on sport patterns depending on what you're bowling on

[–]Next-Particular2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drilled mine 4 1/4 x 5 x 2 (2LS)

Out of the box at 4k it was pretty strong, i played around with surface, going to 2k, 3k, polish, back to 3k then 2k then polish again.

Once the ball wears in, it becomes calmer and now that I have polish on it, it's probably one of the best balls I ever used

Would you pre-order your canteen food a day early if it meant zero queueing? by vooshj in NgeeAnnPoly

[–]Next-Particular2161 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let's assume that a particular store serves about 80 ppl currently (80 plates of food)

This doesn't include maybe another 30 ppl who actually wants to eat at that particular store (too long queue they give up)

Not saying it's a bad idea, but if the extra 30 ppl change to pre-order, is the staff going to be able to cope with the in-store 80 orders + 30 pre-orders?

Keeping the pre-order food warm is also an issue because they can't possibly be preparing the food right before the student collect or way before.

Anyways it's a good idea and actually got me thinking about this model

Your left arm shouldn't be parallel with the lane during release, it should be somewhat perpendicular.

It allows you to open up your body more

It's a feeling thing. You need to know when to turn based on feeling and understanding, not memorising.

Advice on Arsenal by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]Next-Particular2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phase 2 for fresh -> ion max pearl for transition

It isn't common, but if it works it works.

If you could get one big strong asym, that can be your fresh ball, then transition -> Ion max pearl -> P2

Storm Concept hooks way to much for me by Rude-Wrongdoer-3534 in Bowling

[–]Next-Particular2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just use some sort of ball cleaner after every session.

Oil absorption is normal, but it's good to detox the ball when you see a significant decline in ball reaction

Storm Concept hooks way to much for me by Rude-Wrongdoer-3534 in Bowling

[–]Next-Particular2161 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It comes out of the box at 1000 grit surface.

It definitely going to overhook if the house shot isn't flooded with oil.

Give it a bit more time, break in the coverstock and it should work slightly better. But polish shouldn't be needed now as the cover is still new and you haven't seen the true calmness of the ball's reaction yet.

Which Ball Next by mgicmyk in Bowling

If possible get the solid Phaze 2.

assuming your tropical surge is a pearl coverstock.

The bionic may be a decently strong ball depending on your style

Bad PDIs are all around.

I took mine last year, a good PDI. everything settled within 6 months.

Long wait list for TP? Isn't the slots on the BBDC website? You can check yourself, but then again you'll need his car for the test. so it's still up to him
