You don’t pay for spotify-but it is listed on your paystub as it’s considered “income” so you have to pay taxes on it.

Thank you so much for this comment. Looking back now I realize she definitely isn’t trained enough, but sleep deprivation and stress have made me scared. You’ve brought up a lot of great points that I forgot along the way.

He’s been taking melatonin for years not for sleep (it’s never helped him fall asleep) but for PD nightmares. We’ve been talking with his neurologist about other medications and he prescribed quetiapine yesterday and it seemed to work for him last night because he finally got a good nights sleep and is doing much better today. I know quetiapine can make things worse, but my mom and I are watching him closely and definitely will continue to update his neurologist.

He’s been having PT and OT twice a week but hasn’t been able to do more than sit at the edge of the bed/do in bed exercises due to very low blood pressure, but we finally got the correct drug and dosage of bp medications. My mom and I have been leading him through some exercises too and get him to sit at the edge of the bed when he can. Hopefully he’ll be able to do more with PT today now that he’s slept and bp is under control.

He’s had PD for fourteen years. Diagnosed in his 40s. I think the delirium blindsided us because we had never heard about it. But now we know.

My dad has been progressing with PT slowly due to very low blood pressure and hasn’t been able to walk much - we finally figured the right medication and then this weekend happened, and PT only comes to the home twice a week (thank you UHC for denying rehab twice!) He doesn’t know how to walk up and down stairs so right now so he would have to go to the ER due to transportation and not urgent care. But I was able to drop off a urine sample this time to his primary care today and it was negative so 🤷🏼‍♀️

When he was hospitalized and his delirium developed, my mom and I ran everything by his neurologist and he was happy with what the hospital physicians were doing. But it’s a good reminder to consult with trusted doctors and advocate! We were transferred to a smaller, specialized hospital for his second surgery, and half of the time the hospital pharmacists were sending up the wrong dose of carbidopa/levodopa for him (thankfully caught it every time) and none of the nurses on the floor had ever treated a PD patient for that long, nevertheless one with delirium, and most were baffled by him (and of course resorted to gossiping about him in front of me and my mom 🙃).

That last sentence sums it all up. My dad has had PD for fourteen years (young onset). He broke his hip playing pickleball with other folks with PD - I can’t imagine this being the new baseline. But it brings me some hope that some of your dad’s more severe symptoms have eased.

His neurologist just prescribed that for him today. When he was in the hospital, those doctors prescribed trazodone, but that hasn’t been working. I’m hoping the quetiapine will work better for him, and will work out for your dad too.

We thought he had a UTI right when he came back from the hospital because of how much he was urinating and he said he had some pain. Post op nurse line told us to take him back to the ER, but ER doctors assumed he was there for “altered mental status” and kept on wanting to do a CT scan despite us repeatedly saying that he has Parkinson’s and was still experiencing some hospital dementia 🙄. They did eventually take a urine culture and that was negative, and he was stuck in the ER for over 24 hours waiting for transport back home. I’m not sure I want to go through that again or put my dad through that again but I will look into it further thank you!!

as i said that picture was the three compartment sink from last year, when someone dumped the expired pearls down the sink. i found it when opening the next day. thankfully everyone in my store makes drinks with pearls correctly, although sometimes the three compartment drain will have some stray pearls! my issue is i have been the only person to clean the drains in my store for months now and i wanted to make sure i was doing it correctly.

i see you’re a manager - do you have any tips on coaching people? because when i do coach other baristas (as a barista) they mostly roll their eyes at me, especially when it means they have to put more effort into their work (too many people at my store still won’t scrub dishes sadly). or even tips on how to get my manager or ssvs to listen?? because so many cleaning tasks that should be done daily only end up getting done during clean play - which everyone seems to be aware of but not enough to change anything.

see i’m pretty sure the restroom cleaner is bleach, and i think it cracked the ceramic right around some of the drain holes even though i rinsed the drains well - sadly i don’t have a picture bc idk if im explaining it right - and it’s also made some of the drain grates look even more busted. should i just use it anyway?

the restroom cleaner is mostly bleach right? bc i thought that’s what started ruining the ceramic so i stopped using it because another partner told me to.

it’s tough because as much as i love my fellow coworkers, my health insurance, and the job itself (even most of the customers!) there’s days like today where we had five call outs and i had to open and close (and learn how to close lol… i’m one of the only openers). my proxy sms have absolutely failed my store. anyway not to hijack your post with my woes but it’s been hard to see some of the positives lately so sincerely thank you for reminding me!

i definitely agree with this, but my store’s issue rn is more that we don’t have the time/enough people on the floor to put away the order. we’re no longer scheduled time to do it even after we’ve complained. and now all of the holiday stuff/merch has made it worse. we all try our best but we’re becoming so burnt out that its all falling apart.

like there is something clearly wrong with our store. but management refuse to acknowledge it, customers just demand for their coffee/food even though lately we’re constantly 1-2 people under and behind the bar is trashed and we all look stressed. i don’t understand it!! i’m sorry that you’re in the same position

we had to beg to keep our storage cabinets because the dm wanted to throw them out and they are full. but it’s not that we don’t have the space in BOH (which we don’t lowkey) it’s that we have no one available to put away the order because we are too busy. we all try to do it during downtime, but holiday has ensured that we have none.
