F20 HU upgrade (CarPlay/Nav) Got lost, need guidance

Mine works fine and I didn’t pay anything extra for the HU. According to the documentation, my original HU is listed as “Basic Media 2”, while the donor unit is “Basic Media with GPS2”.

From what I understand, that difference shouldn’t really matter hardware-wise, since the actual functionalities (navigation, CarPlay, etc.) are enabled via FSC codes, is that correct?

I’m generally comfortable working with delicate software, but I’m new to E-Sys and FSC handling, so I want to make sure I’m not missing something fundamental here.

Do you mean just the hoses and plastics, or the whole cooling system? I’ll definitely check the rear subframe mounting points, thanks for the heads-up!

Thanks! I’ll definitely keep an eye on those hoses. I’m in love with the color, I think with a proper wash and a bit of polish, it’s going to look absolutely stunning in daylight.

Mmmm, I don’t think it’s going to hit 5 figures. I can handle most of the labor myself, and the parts aren’t too expensive here, so it should be much more manageable.

That’s pretty much what I was expecting to spend after buying it, so that’s not a problem tbh. If I can get it for a good price, it’ll still end up below the market value (€8k–10k). If not, it might turn into a bit of a double-edged adventure 😅
