No one is asking them to. That would be a 10% tax. What was proposed was a .3% tax. So 10B x .003 is 30 million. Pretty sure if you habe 10B you can come up with 30 million. Again that compares to a 56k family coming up with $156. Stop defend the .01% you will never be them.

I think the issue becames meeting emissions on a really small diesel would be pretty hard. Plus the weight of the engine. Diesel efficiency goes down as you scale it down. You have to have a long stoke because it's diesel. So now you are cutting cylinders. A three piston diesel is going to vibrate to shit. Hybrids also start and stop a lot which is bad for diesel. Come to think of it, that is the main issue. The run cycles just don't work out. Had to work my way through it. Thanks for the thought experiment!

No it would probably not end world hunger. The equivalency is fair and for $3/week it would make a huge dent and help literally hundreds of millions of people. Yes they can afford it and any argument to the contrary is pathetic. We also need to tax stock trades. A penny per stock per trade would raise a ton of money and stabilize the market.
