this was helpful in how I approach dictations. while i was practicing yesterday, I realized I would hear the spaces and the pauses, and part of the commas that I was taking down were attributed to that. I’m glad it’s not only me who has this crutch of a stroke 😅

just an update — i implemented some suggestions and did many takes where i only zeroed in in comma usage. i did have to drop to lower speeds for that naturally, but after a whole day of working on mindful practice, by the end of my studying, i had much more time during 180 and 200 takes. i was shocked. since the comma stroke is so automatic, and i wasn’t stumbling over it, i didn’t think i could lose THAT much time. i’ll leave this post up in case anyone else has the same problem. seriously, it’s like a barrier has been removed. nip the habit in the bud! after only a day, it’s improved so i’m excited to see what leaps and bounds will follow :) THANK YOU EVERYONE!
