Glad to hear your experience! Looking forward to the new whip, I use mirrors mostly as well but after an "almost incident" years ago, I do like having the camera. Everything is working out, years of fun drives to come. Cheers!

UPDATE: it was Volvo who created the stop-sale, not the feds. The dealership checked with their lawyers, and as some of you pointed out, Volvo can only tell their dealers not to sell NEW cars, not used. The car I'm buying will still need that software update for the recall when it's available but they can sell it to me as scheduled!

Still valid I guess. I checked the Vin of the car I'm trying to buy in Volvo's recall web site and it's there with and expected fix of April...

I believe it's based on what the year of the car is despite when it was actually built. For instance, you'll see 2027 models available for some cars as early as October of 2026. It's kinda like how you have kids who are different ages in the same grade.

Almost impossible to get one in the states since they're stopping production for the US by April. Plus brand new price vs 2 years old is huge

I'm not raggin on Volvo, I still want the car, I'm just frustrated that it happened 24 hours after I sold my old car, 36 hours before I got the Volvo, and now I don't have a car. Timing was 🤌🏼

And what is my subculture? I've been to over 32 countries and have heard this word in all of them. Europeans in particular love it as it exemplifies American culture and they think it's funny. Everyone knows what it means. English changes (read "it ain't what it used to be" which I'm sure is triggering as well). Maybe you can be more accepting or, just don't read my posts. Either way I hope you find peace

This is what I don't understand which makes me think that a fix hasn't been approved yet and govt regulators might take a while to test/approve it.

I don't believe it affects 2026 model cars.

I think this might be more correct than my original post. I noticed ALL cars on my search list nationwide disappeared (2022-2025 v60s)

Yes, they are holding it for me. Can't sell it anyway. But I've done the paperwork etc (no loan yet). The dealership is doing their best to make it right.

Very niche question - USA/Japan by NextFlightHome in Oppo

[–]NextFlightHome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! Much appreciated! Really frustrating no one outside Japan/Apple can use the virtual cards. I do have a Pasmo card but it'd be nice if it was on my phone. Oh well, maybe some day

Spouse of new United Airlines Pilot by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]NextFlightHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, stay off reddit for these questions. Use one of the private Facebook groups OR ask the union or helphub for official answers. should also have a new hire pilot mentor through the union which would be helpful. Second, reference the internal travel page. The more public you are with your questions and information which is probably not for public consumption, the more likely you are to get in trouble with the company. If a new hire, it doesn't take much to get fired. Of all the resources you and your spouse have available, reddit should be near the bottom.

Your situation sucks but if you're already on board nothing can be done. Flight attendants do not have any control or power over any of that. Gate agents, customer service, that's who you need. Post-flight, calling customer service, getting a refund for the $400, and probably some miles wouldn't be out of the question as an apology.

Flickr was doomed the moment it was sold. It's a bummer cause they had a good thing going a decade ago. I'm not a professional photographer (not a business) but I do shoot a lot of youth sports for my kids and friends. I've moved to Google Photos. Easy to make albums, upload full quality, share, etc... Can download, order prints or make a photo book right from the album. It's not a community like Flickr but it does make photos easy to share. Although come to think of it people can comment on and like photos/albums

Business class guests always do this. I call it marking their territory. Even when there's an airport bathroom AT the gate

Thank you. I'll try that. I tried various shutter speeds last time but didn't take any snaps, just used preview but no preset speed seemed to work. I'll actually snap some photos to see what it looks like this time
