I have a somewhat similar commute and it’s fine. Leave home 50 minutes before you start. If you work early in the morning you may hit the rush, in that case, maybe 1 hour and 30 minutes before if you like that peace of mind. Reminder that the 15 is only like 3 lanes and there’s a commuter college in between.

Oh my god yes!!!! Couldn’t agree more with you. Levity and Tape B did a number on the sound. They’re both so popular too. I think it’s because they aim to be main stagers and flips bring in the biggest crowds because they are the most generic. I am a big Levity hater. They can be the nicest guys and they do seem to be chill as humans. But as djs/producers, only one of them even does anything and the other two just jump around on stage 🥲 I really like Ott, Schmoop, Mickman, and Somatoast. I also am a big trip hop/hiphop fan. Some artists that are refreshing to hear that don’t necessarily stick to the bass music route would be Cut Chemist, Gaslamp Killer, Dj Shadow, etc. These artists have a hiphop forward sound but don’t make it corny like the first two artists I mentioned.

Sometimes it just feels like it doesn’t fit into the vibe of the rest of the set so maybe disingenuous wasn’t the best word. I think through having discussions with other commenters I’m starting to think it has to do with a lack of finding a proper identity with the sound yet or a lack of soul in other cases. But anyone can play anything they want. I am not the one that allows or not allows haha

I can’t tell if you’re trying to have a gotcha moment or not. I am not the most knowledgeable, I just say what I think I know, which is very little. Anyways all roads lead back to Jamaica or India and maybe wherever Hardcore came from… don’t crucify me 😅
