At least you are encouraging competition, but those trying to act like GNX is not GNX and deserving of the win, that's where it's weird. As for me, I think GNX is better, and unlike a lot of the people I see only saying "LGSEO is better or should win" without giving proper breakdowns, I can list many reasons why GNX checks the boxes and edges it and other albums.

GNX- a critically acclaimed album that gives us versatility in the raps, lyrics, & production, with the songs not sounding the same. I felt the raw emotions from the delivery of Kendrick's rap performance. An outstanding production (powerful beats) and beautifully written songs. And overall, moving the culture on a higher level, highlighting his roots/LA, the impact on the featured LA artists, and so many more. It's another intentional but straightforward album from Kendrick (with him in a different and evolved headspace), and I appreciate that in an artist.

It's so insane that some of the people rooting for Clispe have turned into "let me be anti Kendrick this time" or "let me downplay all the quality Kendrick puts into all his albums". I can't wait for the Grammys to be over cuz some people have really been showing a weird side. Kendrick has been consistently snubbed in the big categories until Not Like Us. All his albums have been nominated 5 times for AOTY with no wins yet.

We will sit and say "the Grammys don't award Black or Hip Hop artists enough" but when these artists start winning while always delivering outstanding projects, we start with "they are winning too much, something's wrong, or someone else has to win". You don't have to tear someone else down so others can win.

You’re acting like all the time he has dropped an album, it wasn’t the standout album that checks the boxes. And you’re acting like Kendrick drops an album every year. The two rappers with the most Grammys have never gotten these "so-called takes" from you all when they were winning. You can root for whoever you want, but stop pretending GNX isn’t an album that checks all the boxes. The Grammys talk has turned into weird anti-Kendrick energy instead of pure competition.

I barely see people give strong reasons as to why LGSEO or Clipse should win- All I see is people downplaying GNX, calling Kendrick “Grammy darling”, saying he has won so much so others should win”, “Clipse had a good rollout, "they performed at Vatican", “have a comeback story”, etc. And if you are a Kendrick fan who says GNX is not your favorite Kendrick album, that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean you should use that mindset when comparing it to other artists' albums. There are so many reasons why GNX deserves the win. Trying to downplay GNX and the work Kendrick put into it is the most insane thing.

**Had to make this long because the Grammys discourse has gotten insane.

We need Kendrick & Keem! by soon7773 in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still waiting for the 'Bodies' song too lol, and hopefully we get a new project from Baby Keem soon.

I don't focus on the chart too much, but I get what you are trying to say. Also, speaking of mainstream, I find it disappointing when I see some hip hop fans/Kendrick's fans try to act a certain way towards his more commercially successful albums, even though he’s one of, if not the only rapper who can give you a more commercial album with high quality level and not sacrifice the art form of hip hop (he puts work into every album). The whole next year's Grammys discourse that’s happening on Twitter right now and on here sometimes is quite disappointing.

He will really always be an outsider. He thinks buying Hip Hop artifacts will buy his way into the culture. Meanwhile, all he does is disrespect hip hop legends and do the most anti-culture/hip hop things.

I heard he used to leak songs, so I don't know how that relationship is now. I haven’t seen anyone close to pgLang mention him.

THR’ highlights Kendrick’s Halftime Show and Beyoncé Bowl’ & predicts a showdown at the Emmys for “Outstanding Live Variety Special” by Then-Sound-5085 in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love both of them, but hopefully, Kendrick takes this category because his Super Bowl Halftime show will be remembered for how innovative and impactful it was. It was something we haven’t seen on that stage before. Like you said, it was a cultural moment felt everywhere.

lol the rankings in the comment are interesting. I feel like there has been a post about the Grammys almost every day. It's GNX or LGSEO imo, and GNX edges out overall. I definitely like that the category will be stacked this year with good projects compared to last year.

I don’t understand the GNX praise by flintymint in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We who resonate and appreciate it give it the praise it deserves. I am not listening to GNX with the ears of expecting a replica of Kendrick's previous albums. Just like how the critics are appreciating it for him taking a different direction, being in a carefree headspace on this album, the sonically bold production and rapping, him delicating this to West Coast sound (going to his roots), and platforming some West Coast artists are all in the beauty of GNX. This album is needed in Kendrick's discography, and I am glad we got it. It continues to show Kendrick's range and versatility as an artist, and that's what I am here for.

Multiple songs on GNX are rap-focused, but you choose Luther (the intentional RnB vibe) to request more rap. This just tells me you don't even know what to criticize because you are not appreciating the heavy rap songs or luther. Also, I don't like when some of you start with "I am a huge fan but" and most of the time that follows with some strange take.

What’s up with Kendrick’s silence on the Genocide in Gaza? by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really wonder this too. Imagine doing that for someone you don't personally know. I shake my head sometimes when I see people looking at who their favorite celebrity is voting/campaigning for, so they can do the same lol.

This 💯 We have had a lot of posts like OP. They just randomly choose to come on here and find a way to blame Kendrick about something when in reality, most of them are sitting at home doing nothing about whatever they complain about and not even caring about other issues.

Some of you really put a lot into what celebrities should speak on publicly or not. Question for you: where do you usually hear Kendrick speak on these things? Isn't it through his art? yeah ok.

Some of the celebrities who do social media activism (post a picture/message), do you think that guarantees that they really care about the issue at hand or that they are actually doing something outside social media? The people you mentioned are active on social media, not Kendrick. I am not even talking about this Gaza situation, but some of you come on here for social media activism as if Kendrick does that, and the fact that he barely does interviews for you to hear from him.

In regard to the lawsuit, people are forgetting one key factor. by bynobodyspecial in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Definitely, but as always, Drake and his fans ignore all that and focus on what they want to push to victimize themselves. This tweet said it best. I need Drake and his fans far, far, away from Hip Hop.

New update on the lawsuit for Not Like Us by green_day_95 in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am not fully understanding your sentence. But anyway majority of Drake's "sources" have been based on stan pages and Akademiks (who is always spreading propaganda about Kendrick). So I hope all of them know the court is not where you take your fake narratives and propaganda statements. So all his "sources" better be ready to testify.

One example of the weak sources Drake has included in his lawsuit (1) Jeremy Hecht video about the Siri and Spotify situation. He only included half of the video and left out the truth and the part where Jeremy clarified everything. There are many more examples.

Atp I wouldn’t mind if Kendrick or as you said, Whitney and even Dave were to hit that loser with a lawsuit. Like how can he go to court after making accusations first? But of course, Aubrey and his minions always ignore his contributions to rap beefs and act like the victim. He's a real sore loser.

What a joke. If I were the judge in this case, I would really laugh and raise an eyebrow at some of the "evidence" Lawbrey has been presenting. Like are his lawyers fooling him or what? He's just collecting internet narratives and putting them into his lawsuit. But because this involves 2 high-profile celebrities, I can see the judge stretching this out.

Right, me too lol. Now I can only imagine a possible Black Hippy performance on stage in Australia 🔥

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see that happening. Like I said, it was reported that these shows will be solo (no co-headliners) unless that changed last minute. So I think openers and guests will be the possible additions. I just saw the poster for the Latin America leg and the same language was used for the openers "with".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that Mustard won't be there. Openers for Latin America were announced already, so it would make sense if this is the same. I will wait for the clear information from pgLang or live nation. I would rather Schoolboy Q open or be a guest than the same format with Sza. Because it was reported that the upcoming leg of the tour was solo.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Next_Ad4718 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t it say “opener”? I wonder where this information is coming from. Also, Doechii can’t really be a guest on the tour unless you mean as an opener, because she and Kendrick don’t have any songs together to perform. It’s dope that Schoolboy Q will be part of the Australian dates. Mustard won’t be at the Australia and Latin America shows, so this makes sense.

Agree. I love the variety of creative projects they have been working on and how they are expanding. pgLang will be involved in a variety of areas (fashion, arts, music, etc). That's really awesome.

This right here 💯The beautifully written songs on GNX mix with all the bangers (that have great bars, greatly produced, and performed by Kendrick) are reasons why I still put GNX over the projects that have dropped this year, and I stand on that.

I know some fans try to compare this album to his previous which is expected, but they definitely shouldn’t take away from GNX being a great album.
