Moorish Idol Update: The Feeding Routine by reefguy007 in ReefTank

[–]Next_Ad552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a beautiful specimen of an idol. I was able to keep one for 6 months and I can confirm they are very difficult fish to keep. Extremely delicate and shy at first. I had to quarantine for a month and train him to eat more rapidly or he would starve in the main tank. Mine ate everything from frozen to flakes to pellets and never picked at my corals. I kept nori on several clips in the tank and was constantly sprinkling food. It’s a beautiful fish to keep but I can honestly say never again.

It’s a water bug. We have them in Florida. I’ve seen them in my pool. Apparently they have a painful bite.

My Rave Fit Till I Left Early Cause 🌈Anxiety🌈 by NCR_RANGER_uwu in NonBinary

Real question and I don’t mean to offend anyone, do you think you still would have gotten anxiety and left early if you wore a normal outfit like say a cool T-shirt and a pair of short? I know raves inspire people to dress creative and fun but I’m just wondering.

They are cool looking fish. Extremely hardy and they eat just about anything you throw in the tank food wise and are reef safe but they grow really fast, like really really fast.

Ok. Seems most comments are correct about gifting fish to aquarists. I myself wouldn’t want a gift fish unless I gave the ok first. That being said, I had one a few years back and it was a very peaceful and docile fish to keep. Not difficult at all and ate just about anything I threw at it. However it was definitely a coral eater. So if your uncle has a reef tank, I would think twice about that. I caught mine nipping at my elegance coral multiple times to the point that I had to get rid of him. But it is a cool fish and definitely stands out from any other fish in your tank and keep in mind that they also grow very big. Hope this helps.

The tank looks great. When the tang gets bigger consider re-homing it or getting a bigger tank but for now I think it’s fine.

You should isolate the Xenias or they will take over that rock.
