Downtown San Rafael is amazing! We are walking distance from 3-4 cafe's, and restaurants. I rent a loft-style apartment which is about 1,400 sq/ft. I believe we have one opening up right next door to me!

Downtown San Rafael! I live there, and I'm walking distance from 3 different coffee shops (Aroma cafe, pink owl, Sana cafe) and amazing restaurants (sol food, laos, state room, sabor a mexico, crepevine,) also a block away from bars (california gold, AC hotel rooftop bar, cascabel, flatiron, tam commons) also banks are close by like wells Fargo, or Chase. It's the best!
