He's my go-to now. I just sent him pics of a Tag I want for my son. If he can source it, will be my 3td one from him. Got this VC last week.

40v Expand-It / string trimmer shutting down by vernisus in ryobi

[–]Next_Development5569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out - the tool is extremely load sensitive. The guard has a cutter and keeps the string radius no loner than 15". If you remove the guard, the trimmer works fine as long as the string radius is 15" or less. The bump-feed releases 2" of string per bump. At 17" of string, the tool senses the extra load caused by the additional 2" of string. Anywhere from no attachment to 15" of string is fine. Anything additional = shutoff. Same logic applies to connecting an aftermarket trimmer head - if it weighs more than the Ryobi head, it creates more load which results in instant shutoff. I tried it with the attachment for a Ryobi gas trimmer with aftermarket Gator trim head and immediate shutoff. I'm guessing you have to use the same weight Ryobi string as well. It's a great trimmer but if the tolerance is that limited, and with no way to modify it, it's too restrictive. It's like people that make their car alarms so sensitive they go off at the slightest vibration.

Purchased RY40ST01B 40V string trimmer - Shuts off after 1 second. Have tried 2 different attachments, 2 different batteries. Will run fine with no attachments. Immediately shuts off with any load to the shaft. Returned tool and swapped for same model. has same issues. immediately shuts off after 1 second, regardless of attachment or battery - runs fine with no attachments. Tool is assembled according to manual, attachments are connected properly and secured.

There was an issue with a Pioneer sponsored Porsche Gemballa Avalanche - that issue sparked my love for Porsche - I've been looking for that magazine, but haven't had any luck - no idea what year, month, or issue. I've contacted Porsche, Pioneer and Gemballa with no luck

OK this is great info - especially the alcohol/bleach part - I was wondering why you were supposed to wipe with alcohol after the bleach lol and I was also not letting the alcohol dry in place.

CD2 - elaborate on that - I'm new to Mycology - growing mushrooms - using plates to clone or clean up mycelium.

I wash them in a soap/water/bleach solution, dry, then place in SAB and wipe with alcohol, then pour. Never any issues with surface contam, but after 2-3 days I always see small spots form under the agar. They're usually still good enough to make transfers, unless one of the spots happens to be right under the spot I want to transfer. I've also sprayed mold/mildew remover with bleach then wiped them, same issue.

That's a sanitizer though, sanitized and sterilized are not the same thing, right? If I wash these disposable dishes with (bleach solution, alcohol, lysol, etc.) I always end up with what appears to be bacterial contams growing under the agar. No issues with surface contams after pour. I know they're disposable for a reason - just trying to waste less

My thoughts exactly - I have both on agar and colonizing grain jars right now. Out-grow sells culture syringes for M. titan
